Controlled Savage Dogs in the dark bark impatiently
old ink-from-old-ink-after-old-ink
industrial chains causing all kinds of work skin
leather holds onto dreams of freedom from the wallets
talks of our friends being slashed-up on Broad Street

but still i can see
my path is a good one
towards my living and being and dying
aye aye aye aye

the ignorant steps of business and knee-high-
work-shirts and skirts waaaaaaaalk byyyyyyyyy...
searching for any signal between news traveling fasssst
dogs show pigeons catch-the-eye
and news of friends being slashed up on Broad Street

but still i can see
my path is a 'good one'
towards my living and being and dyyyyyyyyyyiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnning

slowly floats in the gutter and into the ether
another grey drizzle of 'City Life'
leading to assume the 'worst' is in the 'best'
but the chemical-based-Ciders served in tinnies
serve up the ha-ha-ha-laughter towards us
the divine comedy of the situation, and before long,
crime is forgotten, my friend, in hospital, lying rotten
