Il y a parfois des enregistrements que j’oublie dans un coin, jugeant leur qualité insuffisante, comme cette ancienne rencontre avec un couple de Hibou moyen-duc (Asio otus). Mais le souvenir est trop beau pour ne pas le partager. 
Sometimes, there are recordings left dormant, because I don’t find them good enough. Like this encounter many years ago with a pair of Long-eared Owls (Asio otus). But it’s too good a memory not to share.

Fin de soirée. Temps calme. Le blongios nain entame son chant. Sur l'autre rive, un autre mâle chante également. La rousserolle effarvatte nous fait profiter de son talent d'imitatrice, avec ici un début de chant inspiré de celui de l'hypolaïs polyglotte. Juin 2023

From dusk to dawn with two pairs of cranes and one or two single male contenders. In this recording you will hear almost infrasound (80-200 Hz) growls and heavy panting as the males chase each other in the wetland and of course the trumpeting of cranes through the night. An amazing experience to be this close. Huddunge, Uppsala. April 9, 2024.

This is a recording of an individual storm petrel calling from the walls around mousa broch on shetland.

I recorded this a while ago above Weltenburg on the Danube, Bavaria, Germany. It´s an area of calcerous grassland on a limestone hill. This protected area is kept intact through the use of sheep which graze there and stop bushes etc.taking over. There´s a skylark singing above the microphone as well as crickets bees and hoverflies.

Recorded this night thunderstorm with a Sennheiser double mid-side system.  The rain was pretty heavy over a grove of aspen, with some broader leafed vegetation on the forest floor.  The storm lasted for a few hours, I picked out this section to share for now.

Common Goldeneye on a noisy Saturday night next to a pond. Didn't see the birds - fascinating species who also make sounds with their wings that sounds like "ripping silk"

A short track to emphasize the acoustic properties of the forests in Estonia. I have cut off most of the impulses to focus on reverberant response which can last 7 seconds or more. This was recorded at the (now infamous) 'forest megaphone' site on a dead calm evening in September 2015. The mics were not in the 'megaphones' however, but in the free air. The original file is in 24bit 48khz if you want to download and play with it.

Lonely Tawny owl singing in the night. The weather is cloudy, temp 8-10 C°, Gentle breeze on the treetop and on the montain slope. About 50m from me. A place with a narow valley with less noise pollution (beside airplanes!)

I like sounds. wich are a lot more evocative than images . Rather naturals sounds, I appreciate artistic, sociological, ecological or contemplative aproach. Besides  I start to be really interested in bioacoustic studies. Making DIY microphones projects (multicanal technic , hydros, bat recorders..) and home made wind protections.
