Originally established in 2001 as a record store, Dublin-based All City Records also expanded into the role of a record label two short years later, in 2003. Since then they've had numerous releases from both up and coming, as well as established artists, receiving critical acclaim on more than one occasion. Not sticking to any one particular genre, their catalogue boasts of music from hip-hop circles to house influences to more experimental concepts and beyond. Releasing music from the likes of Folamour, Onra, Krystal Klear and Falty DL they are now preparing to welcome a newcomer to their roster.

Fellow Cork-based Irishman Colm K  doesn't have too many releases under his belt since his debut single with Elaine Dowling came out in 2011 on the always fresh Bastard Jazz Recordings. He penned another couple of singles for their offshoot BSTRD Boots, an EP for London-based R2 Records and a single for Seven Davis Jr.'s Future Society compilation on the same imprint. Now he's back, this time bringing his perfectly complementing hip-hop, funk and soul laced, sample-laden tracks to All City with a four song EP --- two of which are meant for the dancefloor and two for easy listening.

Our premiere today from the "Heights" EP, named after the place where he grew up, is the B2 track entitled Affinity. A slightly darker, late night number at its core, it actually starts off in a slightly jazzier direction. Then, combining some deep, dubby chords with scuttling percussion and hypnotizing vocal samples, it really turns into more of a tripped out groover, perfect for keeping those feet moving in the wee hours. This one, alongside the more peak time focused A1 track Seeing are both bound to cause some serious blisters on the dancefloor.

The very sharp groove, the bass is seriously imposing. Its version follows very "Big Room" logic, therefore essential but deep at the same time. The voice expresses a lot of emphasis and the heavy electronic synths seem to move mountains."Jazzuelle Darkside Mix" has an Afro Deep root with a softer touch, but with a great atmosphere. The melodies of marimba create a suggestive atmosphere perfectly fused with the voice. The central break drags you to another dimension ... when it starts again, the melodic evolution of the marimba is overwhelming."Afro Mix" defines its nature by itself but with a more classic mold. The groove is characterized by very refined percussion and maracas. The piece pulls straight up to the central break where the percussions are accentuated by giving new energy and an evocative ambiance, modeled perfectly to the voice.One of the best productions by Dj Vivona, a real bomb! A version for every palate and situation in the club.

Over the years, Berlin has been cited as Oliver Koletzki’s main point of reference and, more importantly, his endless source of inspiration. His albums Großstadtmärchen and Großstadtmärchen 2 are wholehearted tributes of the German capital, as its importance is continuously hinted and charted.  Friedrichshain, one of Berlin’s vibrant districts, has always held a special place in Oliver’s heart. This is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now. Kreuzberg’s wall paintings adorn Stil Vor Talent ’s cover sleeves and host their headquarters. There are little to no corners in the city that haven’t brought a spark of inspiration into the mix. The Schneeweiss compilation series, now at its 10th installment, is built as a form of tribute to all these particles, tied in together into a series of carefully curated tracks. Each compilation stands at the intersection of the musical and cultural surroundings most prominent of their respective times, acting both as a reminder as well as a timeless sound capsule for the years to come.
