The debut single from multi instrumentalist Daniel Crichton is a slice of warm DIY indie pop. Stepping into the spotlight for the first time as a solo artist, the entire single was recorded in lockdown on his phone (it's a decent phone). 

An honest and ambitious first offering, at 2:43 the track is a bite-sized insight into an artist discovering their voice.

"Why Me is about this feeling or state we all go through whether we care to admit it or not, its's not quite anger nor is it quite contemplation, but rather a mixture of both"

States of Being is an e.p that blurs the boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, gospel, garage and grime. The result is both expansive and intricate, scanning the vast spectrum of Black music.

Lewis’s music is expansive, intricate, conceptual, scanning the vast spectrum of Black music. Combined with his own cultural heritage as a native south Londoner and black British Caribbean, Lewis delivers music that blurs the boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, gospel, garage and grime and many other genres too.

He is an In-demand session musician and arranger, he is a member of many high profile groups including House Gospel Choir, MOBO award winning gospel artist Rachel Kerr , The Last Dinosaur, Boadi. Last year saw him tour with Florence + The Machine in the states and sessions including Cat Burns, Primal Scream and Waiting For Smith. 

He is currently working on his next release which will be a full album following his debut e.p States of Being which has had support from BBC Introducing Mixtape (Tom Robinson BBC Radio 6), BBC Radio London (Robert Elms Show) Worldwide FM, Soho Radio, Jazz FM, Twisted Soul to name a few.
