“Can’t help but string me along” was written last summer about yearning and wanting something or someone and being frustrated because you want to stop being reminded of it constantly. This song was GREAAATTTLYYY inspired by “But Not Tonight” by Depeche Mode and mostly consists of synths and the same on going drum beat that filters through the entirety of it. 
            This song is very much about unrequited love but also the hope and possibility of it being requited. It’s about not knowing enough about a person to decide what’s going on between you but also finally being able to accept that and realize it doesn’t matter what’s going on as long is your enjoying it. 
            MY VOCALS SOUND TERRIBLE IN THISSSSS. like actually so seriously awful. I tried doing many vocal takes but felt so connected to the original vocal scratch vocal I started with which is actually so embarrassing but the day I wrote this song meant so much to me and I wanted to hold onto that through the quality of the recording (despite how truly shitty it sounds). 
          Last August I was ACTUALLLYYY delusional. So yes the lyrics sound a little crazy and desperate but it’s okay. 

AS IM TYPING THIS IM LISTENING TO THE VOCAL AND IT SOUNDS SO BAD AHH IM SO SORRY. someday this song will be professionally recorded and it’ll sound as cinematic as it does in my head, but for now, here’s the shitty version.
