Now I'm grown, the stakes have flown, from candies to grander visions,
Choices weigh like gourmet buffets, life's a chef with tough decisions.
Should I splurge, or should I purge, my cravings for instant pleasure?
With every bite, might lose or might gain, a treasure beyond measure.

Then comes a day, in a soft dismay, I grab that marshmallow,
Breaking fast, the die is cast, "It's fine," I shrug, quite mellow.
As shadows stretch and twilight nears, I ponder paths I've chosen,
With sticky chin, a knowing grin, life's not just black and white, it's golden.
