This month was a real challenge!

When I looked at Odin, I came up with the idea of a true One (!) Synth Challenge – just a single instance, no excuses.
I dove deep into sound design and quickly realized: this would become a real borderline experience.

While endlessly tweaking, I kept discovering new sonic paths – sometimes inspiring, sometimes frustrating.
Odin could be pretty temperamental when dealing with MIDI, but in the end, I managed to shape something that feels raw, tense, and expressive.

So here it is: Grenzerfahrung (borderline experience) –
a track born from limitation, chaos, and way too many hours. ;)

Borderline self-parody, I see this as the last hurrah on a string of increasingly silly songs.

Unicycle Jousting

"In a distant future where organic life and machine consciousness have merged, a towering structure rises from the heart of a neon-lit metropolis—a cathedral not built of stone, but of circuitry, fiber optics, and humming energy. This is the Circuit Cathedral, a sanctuary where digital souls come to reflect, recharge, and transcend."

The concept for this track came from prompting A.I. for inspiration for a new track.  The A.I. suggested a synth-laden electronic rock track with a rogue theremin thrown in for good measure.  It also came up with the track's title, cover art, and backstory.

[Please note: as this un-mastered track was mixed using headphones, I recommend that it be listened to via headphones/earbuds to ensure the best listening experience.]

Circuit Cathedral

The Nightmare Machine is a series of spooky lo-fi short tracks sounding like they are playing from the rusted circuits of a lost horror game cartridge left inserted in a blown up vintage game console. The dread, melancholy and creepiness they bring with them reek of the decay and fear that many times can dominate our most profound nightmares, testimony of inner torments that a lot of people have to conceal everyday and then manifest through their agitated sleep.
 
Originally aimed to be the soundtrack of an 8-bit game project that still has to come to light because of several unconveniences, I thought it would be a pity to abandon them and deny listeners some healthy shivers; thus, I decided to refurbish them as a small concept EP, with new mixing and mastering.

So... enjoy this gloomy trip, fellow listeners!
