Yearning is part of the human condition. We sense something just beyond our reach. We are always reaching and yet the seemingly unattainable is in fact sitting in the very present of who we are. 

This piece starts with a present moment in natural sound and explores yearning through music.

Reaching

You can enter an empty room and know someone has just left. Absence always has a sister in presence. We live amongst ghosts. In this piece the feeling of something gone but tantalising close is explored. Regret and good memories co-exist.

Not3 - Once I Wasn't And I Won't Be.

Electronic musician, writer, image maker (see Instagram) and university educator.

In Jan 2022 armed with Ableton Live and a midi keyboard, I taught myself to write music. 

I have released some outcomes of a surprising creative journey.

My music explores the music of natural sounds and the fusion of musical tools from different traditions (western orchestral, electronic, ambient and pop).

As a life long writer of poetry and former winner of the Manchester Poetry Festival commission for Poetry to the Theatre,  I continue to work at integrating text with music and soundscapes. I have completed some initial explorations including, Pinging The Mast and Only For A Moment.

I am looking for a community of artists and an audience interested in similar ideas. As an experienced theatre maker (with credits for writing and directing) I would be happy to collaborate on soundscapes and soundtracks for Film, TV, theatre and dance.
