I like to think of this track as a good example of what inspires me to write music. I’ve tried to capture the 80s feel which is one of my favourite musical eras. This track has a prince feel to it as I wanted to give the track that happy keyboard sound, pairing with the bass and guitar chords to compliment the whole sound whilst using FX.

Taken from a live version of "Wasting Away" from a St Patrick's Day gig (17th March 2017) at Banshee Labyrinth, Edinburgh, which originally featured myself on guitar and vocals and Richy Neill on drums. Richy later remixed it with extra backing vocals and lead guitar and bass, all done by himself might I add, and sent to me as wee present but I liked it so much I've put it up here. Also, that really is the audience shouting during the chorus. Sadly we didn't have any extra mics set up which is why they sound so distant.

Also I renamed it "A Hard Case Live Remix" in reference to one of Richy Neill's own songs called "HardCase." Check out Richy Neill and the Reinforcements here:

Maiden Envy

Recording of song "Wasting Away" done at my friend Andy MacTaggart's flat in Glasgow.  Andy recorded and mixed the track as well as adding drum parts, bass and additional guitars.  I did the vocals, main acoustic guitar and solo.
