Island unto Myself has a sad tranquil, contemplative ambiance as if one were alone on a island in the middle of the Pacific ocean. Explore your feelings of love, loss, and sorrow with Bleeding Heart.  Strong emotions compelled me to write Bleeding Heart.  It expresses the sadness and sorrow I see in the world around me, the sick and the dying coupled with political strife and war permeate our world today.  The music is my creative communication and contribution to the world that we are all born with dignity, an inherent value and self-worth as human beings deserving of kindness and respect from, to, and with each of our fellow brothers and sisters.  We all matter.

When I composed Bleeding Heart. I used the violin as the main instrument to emulate the instrument’s ability to ‘cry.’ The piano and church bells provided a haunting sad undertone similar to a funeral procession.  I also used the supporting violins in a unique way to emulate the haunting, intimate sounds whales and dolphins make to communicate in the sea.

L' heure de la Mort pays tribute to those taken away from us - to those gone too soon.  May they rest in peace as they are blessed in the eyes of God.

L' heure de la Mort means the hour of death.  L’ heure de la Mort allows one to to reflect, to contemplate, to grieve, and to ponder one's existence.  Musicians, young and seasoned, will find this piece easily accessible and enjoyable for learning and performing.  Audiences will identify with the musical emotionality conveyed in this piece as it takes its listeners on a vivid passionate journey filled with much pathos. L’ heure de la Mort  not only embraces death but also takes listeners on an epic journey infused with courage, nobility, respect, and courage to overcome our greatest challenges.  The piece begins with a dark, foreboding, expressive cello solo motif symbolizing death’s existence.  Then it takes an epic climactic build to convey life’s journey with a sense of overcoming adversity as one does throughout life. The strings and woodwinds herald a sweeping triumphant melody while the brass rise gloriously heralding  the joys of life. However, the return to the opening theme in the closing represents death’s natural, respectful inevitability, concluding this life as a step to moving onward to the hereafter.

This past week I had been contemplating the utter desperation that seems to have surrounded us in living our day to day life from politics to Covid-19 and pervading social injustice.  To process these emotions and to achieve some type of catharsis, I started to write music that would convey this desperation that fuels our actions.  Everything seems to be a matter of life and death.  To uplift our spirits I wrote music that reflected our actions and emotions but also to give us strength and hope so that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.  This too shall pass.  We can get through this together.

I share with you now my new creation entitled Desperate created to capture our feelings and energy of these times as well as a to provide a healthy musical dose of strength and hope with the power of resilience to see a better tomorrow.

Tito Abeleda is music composer and producer at Visionary Quest Records creating a wide range of music from Modern Classical to Cinematic music.
Tito graduated cum laude with High Honors from Butler University, Jordan College of Fine Arts with a B.A. in Performing Arts majoring in Music, Dance, & Theatre. With over 30 years of professional experience in the entertainment industry, Tito has worked as composer, music director, director/choreographer, Broadway performer, and producer. In 2017, Tito founded Visionary Quest Records to embody his music. Notably, Visionary Quest Records music is all instrumental. Its mission statement is that Visionary Quest Records is a record label helping creators bring their creative visions to life with music. His music conveys a wide range of human emotions from powerfully epic, suspenseful, and action oriented to dreamy, tranquil, and sorrowful. Tito composes & produces his music from his home studio in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
