Griot (pronounced GREE-oh) are, broadly speaking, west African storytellers who for centuries have kept the oral histories of their communities alive through song, poetry, dance and various other forms of communication. 

Just like the traditional Griots, our Melbourne-based production company encompasses many forms of storytelling - through various mediums and formats.  

Our aim is to tell inspiring stories that reflect and explore the socio-cultural dynamics of the world we live in through innovative and engaging ways. 

Organic SOL Music is seasoned with American forms of Jazz, Blues, Soul and Funk served up on a bed of  African, Brazilian, Latin, Calypso and Reggae rhythms. Their singer-songwriter style and fresh, relevant lyrics are truly uplifting mantras wrapped in feel good music.

Take a musical sojourn from the Motherland of Africa through the Caribbean and the Americas with Organic SOL Music. Percussionist and Guitarist KAMAU will wow you with his syncopated beats and fiery presence.  Singer-Songwriter and Percussionist, Lyneé shares her thoughtful and engaging lyrics and her 5-octave vocal range. 

Their message is truly in their music as these storytellers create original songs of empowerment, unity and love. Even their renditions of popular cover tunes stay true to their Afro-centric and positive point of view. Organic SOL Music is synonymous with spontaneous  conga-lines, drum circles and chanting 'call and response' songs. Their mission is not only to entertain but to encourage audience interaction.
  
﻿Lynee’ and Kamau are organic, vegan chefs and wanted “Organic” to be a part of their name. “Organic” means, “fundamental and back to the basics”. “SOL” is their play on the world “Soul” and the Latin word for “Sun” describing their warm and inviting music.  They truly get back to the basic roots of Afro-American music as an Acoustic Duo on their percussion, vocals and guitar.

Organic SOL performs as an Acoustic Duo and also as a Trio on up to a 4-7 piece Band.  Their performances are infused with all of the fire, emotion and energy of a Broadway production.  Organic SOL Music is synonymous with conga-lines, drum circles and chanting "call &response" with their fans. Their soulful blend is best savored LIVE and in COLOR! 

Led by the charismatic Vieux Aliou Cissokho from Senegal,Africa, Afronesia is a world music band heavily influenced by west African traditional instrument(The Kora,22 strings Harp)from the Mandinka peoples, who are traditional historians, genealogists and storytellers who pass their skills on to their descendants. Afronesia's first album (Tama Silo-The Journey) released in November 2012 and the lyrics speak of Senegalese,Indonesian,French and English with the globally popular styles:Afro-Funk,Latin,Jazz and much more.Afronesia was created by the founding members of Hamanah Drum & Dance (Sarah & Catur).

Consummate musicians and storytellers, Kim & Reggie Harris are a mini festival of diversity. Combining traditional African-American spirituals and freedom songs with original folk acoustic folk, they sing of life, love, freedom and justice as well as environmental and community issues. Their latest CD, “Resurrection Day,” binds these themes into a profoundly moving personal odyssey of inspiration and hope, adding Reggie’s experience as an organ donor recipient to the social justice and life transformation palette.
