My Story

This was a seed that Chris came up with on his acoustic guitar, adding beats, and some subtle vocals, then shared with Josh and Stephen. They are always excited to work on Chris' songs, because he always comes up with magical tunes.

  Josh was first in line, adding his five string fretless bass, then the organ part. Stephen used Josh's chord structure to come up with his awe-inspiring, monster electric sitar part. After they both laid down their parts, Chris added the electric guitar you hear at the beginning, too. 
  The song was about twice the current length when Chris made it, but Josh chopped off the second half, as the crescendo fits right into the 2/3 slot now. This was mixed as a team effort in BandLab, too, which is a rarity, given both Stephen and Chris are expert producers. 

  This is an example of a song Chris came up with, that was taken to the next level by Josh and Stephen. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Juxtaposed They Went

what a complex paradoxical mix of counter currents flow through each of us. On one hand we write poetry and on the other hand we have a club. We are brutally savage and deeply empathetic at the same time. Somehow we need to tame the evil and let the good prevail

in each of us a hurricane

each day tears our soul to pieces
so we never have the puzzle whole

how conflicted we are
how sick and twisted we are
all distorted and tortured inside

always do the worst when we try to do our best

how inconsistent we are in what we do and say
yet how predictable we are in the mistakes we make
we always seem to tell the same sad story
never looking back to learn from our history

when it comes to death and destruction we are number one by far

yet how slow we are
how inefficient we are
when it comes to showing others any love or affection

so how do we solve this terrible riddle that is us?
what sword can be used to cut this Gordian knot?
the answer lies in a simple phrase
one we say and hear almost every day
but something it seems to hard for us to do
that is: treat others as you hope that they would treat you

if you follow these simple words
you will find peace in the eye of your storm

and the knowledge of the miserly
cannot withstand the yearly flooding force
and can and will and is not allowed for atrophy
as long as eight blurred legs still makes a horse

ah burning barnacles to make light
of tonal drylands and bold vertebrates
bridges? Yes, bridges burn for ashes flight
and sparks and bio luminosity and micotonal clefs

for those who walk the open scalar fields
have guns that glow and minds to blow
for those who raft down rapid vector creeks
have dreams to grow and seeds to sow---

the scalar fields part 10: Vector creek with Jo Richter

I was looking at old photos of a town gathering in the 1800s for a lynching. I was struck at the carnival atmosphere, the presence of all kinds of people, women and children. This is disturbing but very real and it is NOT confined to America,the South but instead is a sad global problem with religions and "God". Too often I think religions are excuses to commit some of the most awful  human atrocities . Religions,like leader cults(nazis/emperorsetc), seem to blind masses into justifying the slaughter  of the enemy of the day. God in most religions preached tolerance/forgiveness/inclusion and yet these fundamental principles are conveniently forgotten when it comes time to fulfill some self serving goal, monetary/territorial or ego. I wish I knew why

on this bright and sunny day

they hear the parents say
off to church to learn to pray
