Find your way to where you are. This track turned out to be very smooth. I used a tape delay FX from the Empress Zoia on a chord progression I wrote for the Novation Ultranova. Drums from the Synthstrom Deluge. Synth sounds from the Arturia MicroFreak. The bass line was from combining the Behringer Crave and the arpeggiated Moog Werkstatt. The celebration of the Autumnal Equinox, Harvest Home, Mabon, the Feast of the Ingathering, is a modern Pagan ritual of thanksgiving for the fruits of the earth and a recognition of the need to share them to secure the blessings of the Goddess and the God during the coming winter months. The name Mabon was coined by Aidan Kelly around 1970 as a reference to Mabon ap Modron, a character from Welsh mythology. Among the Sabbats, it is the second of the three Pagan harvest festivals, preceded by Lammas / Lughnasadh and followed by Samhain. (Source Wikipedia)

Hell Feeder shared our track Mabon to remix with a number of invited artists from Soundcloud. These artists were handpicked simply because we were big fans of their creative output.

Aim

To release this track in tandem with all the remixes presented in a playlist. Ideally around the 21st-24th Sept ’21. We are limited by time and understand that you are too. Therefore, there is no hard and fast deadline. We can delay release of the track until the remixes are completed and/or add subsequent remixes to the playlist.

Furthermore, once all remixes are complete, we can discuss further collaborations involving us remixing your remixes or you remixing each other’s remixes. Since we appreciate and respect the output of all the artists we have invited, it would please us if previously unconnected creators collaborated.

Limitations

The concept of this remix project is to use only the samples/stems provided. There will be plenty of material to choose from, so we insist on this limitation. The sounds and samples provided should only be used for the purpose of this remix.
For unity of presentation we advise naming tracks in the following manner:

Should everyone agree to permanently host their remix on their own page then we will repost all remixes and create a playlist. If people are limited on the amount of time/space on their profile (for those with unpaid accounts) we can discuss solutions regarding where the remix is posted.

You are completely free to use the provided material in any way you choose (for the purposes of this remix project alone). You may reconstitute the provided sound through sampling/processing/FX as you desire. Any BPM, genre, style or vibe. It is entirely your choice. Mabon

Out of a somewhat sorry sounding musical milieu of half-started, half-baked and half-abandoned ingredients, this strange composition that you hear before you now, slowly yet determinedly, began to emerge and assume a structural form where, for a seemingly endless period during the early part of the production process, no such spark had seemed possible.

The notion of adopting a considerably accelerated tempo for this number had not been my intention from the outset - originally, this piece was expected to jog along at a steady 102 bpm - but then, out of nowhere, the idea of doubling the pace shuffled forward and suggested itself with a slightly self-conscious and apologetic shrug. After playing around with it for some time, I soon discovered that this had the potential to lock the entire, previous hotch-potch of uninspired themes into a much more cohesive musical whole, so I stuck with it and hey presto: the aforementioned structural form solidified.

So, there you have it, wonderful people: "His Very Words" was prepared, sliced, diced, boiled, cooked and baked during the late summer/early autumn of 2021, entirely in Ableton Live 11 and is served up here for your delectation and listening pleasure on this day, the 13th October 2021.

For this release, I'm delighted to welcome back on artwork duties the irrepressible collage exponent, Harl Vind. His incredible visual is entitled, "So Now I've Got No Mouth But I'm Still Screaming". I'm sure you'll concur that it's a fitting match for the music.
