Tenuous Time

The follow up to our 2017 debut.

“This Hell” is a lament that’s accentuated by shrieking guitars and Joe Bradshaw’s doom-stricken drums. The song serves as a tribute to a young girl’s fight against cancer. Orem’s tone is resolute as he recounts her bravery despite the unfavorable odds: “You don’t own me, and I’m not scared.”~Buzzy Band

Thank god for a beautiful new day!

Two months ago I fell over, a simple loss of balance and crushed my right wrist - at the same time this virus caused me and most of the world to seclude ourselves - and I couldn't play my piano. My cast and splint are off but there is healing still to do. Finally, this week I sat down to play - painful, but that is life.  In my seclusion I met a woman online in pain from a broken knee and a broken life. She lives in New York. Everyone has their own pain to live with. We are not alone, even when we feel alone.  Everything I record has a reason.  In the music is the emotion of her story. I recorded this music for her.  

It is now time for me to get my life back. My immune system is suppressed. I have rarely left my house since Feb. I teach my students over video chat. The world is different now and we don't know where it is going. That will be the story of my upcoming music.

I wrote it in 6/8 to fit in with the spiralling gyre theme. It's like 3/4 (waltz time)but with less strong beats for your money and I just like Pop Goes The Weasel. Oh, and Joni Mitchell's six jet plane trails/guitar strings in 'Amelia' too!
