Rapid Operator

I have allways been fascinated by the similar basic groove in traditional folk music from all over europe and even beyond. Its like we can sense the blood pumping in our common veins whether we have roots in Norway,Idaho or Ukraine.
I have tried to capture some of that with my digital composing tools to create this little piece of Folktronica titled BONFIRE NIGHTS.

If this ain’t nice then what is ?  This was said by Kurt Vonneguts’ uncle at family gatherings according to Kurt in a YouTube video of one of his lectures about the shapes of stories . So it goes .

Joe Strummer made some of the best music I’ve ever heard .  Phenomenal songwriter musician who made each song his own.  He wrote a song titled “Ramshackle Day Parade” .  So it goes .

The vw bus bit is a high school memory.  Imagine The 70’s Show .  Old Bob is a ditty from long, long ago.

The relic of your love

you would keep marrying soldiers
to the supposed virgins of Rome,
so they could not fight;
and soldiers are gold to an empire.

Or else ministering to Christians
(those dafties with their crosses)
before the lions had them;
cutting hearts from parchment
to remind them what their love meant;
for the betrothed on earth, and to Him beyond.

All this made the Emperor chafe;
you weren’t playing ball, my love.
To maintain respect, like some Scorsese hero,
he simply had to have you beaten with clubs;
and like Rasputin, you forstood unfathomable violence,
until they chose to remove your head
out on the Via Flaminia,
one night beneath a Hunter’s Moon.
This did the trick.

Centuries bleed past like broken hearts,
and here you tarry, my grinning suitor;
I stand before your skull,
braided with bright white roses
that stink of faith,
and ask for the gift of vision
to find the one true heart
in a wilderness of stone.

A contemplation about the concept of death, the non biological one.
I wrote this song as part of an upcoming album called "fur Annita". The latter represents a symbiosis between my inner unintelligible world and a fictional character that symbolizes nostalgia, melancholy, love, confusion, abandonment, resilience, resistance, overthinking, vulnerability, mistrust and sadness.
