Jeff and I both feel the grieve of letting go. In times like these, though, it might be wiser to move unpredictably. Our special thanks go to the memory of Carlos Castaneda, whose novels and gesta and concepts of reality had had quite an impression on our respective minds when they were a lot younger and infinitely more malleable. It's been a blast!

The photograph of the lovely bench taken by Jo reminds me of the conversations between Carlos Casteneda and Juan Matus while sitting on benches in city parks  about Magic and human beings and the sheer wonder of this existence--the empty bench signifies  their absence in a most poignant way and the final installment in this definitive journey-- and yes indeed it has been a Blast!:)

on the brink of sanity
patterns to puzzle a lot from
radiance translates as "shree"

Even though, small and uninformed
he seemed to know and though he tried
to get a fix on how and why and when and where
Explanations, few and far between
appearing only in a dream
forgotten in the waking
while brains are baking
and crud is caking on the carcass
while it's slipping in it"s standing
exponentially expanding disappointments
take their toll,
even though, wouldn't trade
this moment for a nickel or
for anything at all
graduated, grateful, gratified beyond belief

A reworking for this track in my archive originally created in autumn 2024, after a few versions in the last year i  find it fits well with the context of Haiku Music Challenge Naviarhaiku 617

Saitō Sanki (1900 – 1962) was a dentist who discovered his passion for haiku poetry in his mid-thirties, when his colleagues at the hospital in Soto Kanda convinced him to write a haiku for a collection. Later, he became one of the most important exponents of wartime haiku: he was imprisoned in 1940 during the government’s World War II persecution of controversial artists, and was officially forbidden to write until the end of the war.

わたしには後ろが見えない
彼/彼女にはわたしの後ろが見える
彼/彼女には後ろが見えない
わたしには彼/彼女の後ろが見える
彼/彼女の肩の向こうに見えるのは
あれは廃屋なのだろうか
高台の黒い木立の中の白い建物の壁面に
銃眼のような小さな黒い窓が並び
人が棲んでいる気配はない
あの木立の中に立つと
木の枝の手指に掴まれた空が見える
それが気になってしようがない
彼/彼女の言葉は耳に入らず上の空
彼/彼女の目も
先ほどからわたしの肩の向こうに注がれている

I cannot see what is behind me.
I can see what is behind you.
You cannot see what is behind you.
You can see what is behind me.
Behind you lies an abandoned house nestled within the grove atop the hill. 
Its walls are lined with small, dark windows like gun ports.
Standing within that grove, I would see the blue sky grabbed by sharp tree branches. 
I cannot stop worrying about that. 
Your words don't register; my mind is elsewhere. 
You too have been staring at what lies beyond my shoulder since earlier.

The primal ache for light in the dark, a sonic meditation on childhood’s fragile rituals and the ancestral pulse of fear that flickers when the sun retreats. Why does the dark feel so big?
