A youth and children community, associative, rural, and mainstream radio station having a legal existence in Liberia where it is established.
It adheres to the ideals of democracy, openness, mutual understanding and respect amongst individuals and communities. It subscribes to the principle of promoting peace and human security, transparency and accountability in governance, regional economic integration, social and cultural development among people especially youth and children  of the region.


Music is my biggest passion.  I can center my emotions and bring them to a point with the help of music. For this reason, every song is part of me, shaped by my mood, my opinion, my wishes, my fears, my feelings and much more.
I do not force myself to do something that I can not represent or end. From the time when a new piece of music arises I never know what it will sound like in the end. I have no concrete ideas and it is not rare that several months pass before the song is finished. This makes a song dynamic and it does not get trapped in a moment.
I focus on free music development and experimental sounds. I do not try to make my music popular, nor for succes. If my music pleases or helps a person, it makes me happy.

Alternative Youth Radio (AYR) exists as Liberia’s first youth broadcast radio, media training platform and potential employer of rural dwelling youths. As a youth-driven initiative, our mission is to train, empower and transform the lives of rural young people, while at the same time entertaining the listening public through quality songs and educating them through programs that are youth driven and youth-focused.
