Biography
From a group of young students that had a passion for Music, Rebels Band is known to be St.Eustaius Nr1 best Soca Performing group that have made their way into the bigger world.
Started in 1996 by a family group of young ambitious Guys that were inclined, they were branded as “The Rebels Youth Band". Still being Students, the group took their music at heart until they separated to further their studies abroad, leaving behind their first debuted album “We Gone Beyond" which was released in 1999. While focused on school, their Debuted album was floating through the air and radio with the popular tracks such as: Rag Time, Boat Ride, Nice Gyal, Forever and much more. Rebels Band took the stage by storm when their featured artist ‘’Private’’ became Road March king with his massive release ‘’Statia on fire’’ which dominated the streets, with old and young on their feet.
In the school breaks, Rebels would return home and would always leave behind an album, remaining the carnivals favourite.
2001, Rebels Band Co Founder & manager, Daddy Wayne reformatted the group and focused on getting the band more structured also taking home the price that year at road march with their song entitled: ‘’Ton Ton
From 2007 right up to 2010 the band became more popular by their style and present, which not only made them champions of Band O’ Rama but also best individual artist.
In 2010 the Band began exploring the main stream, sharing stage shows with other veterans of the Caribbean, such as: Machel Montano, Alison Hinds , Onyan and 3 Cylinder, Jam Band, Tripple K ,Just to name a few.
Capturing the ears of their fans with their new sound and latest releases such as Horsie, How Can i, Run, All i am living for, and many road March songs like, and Summer Fest Gym, Rebels Band is definetly the band for your event.
After being crowned as 2011 Road March king, with the untouchable song ‘’Rage’’, Rebels Band dropped their 2011 album also entitled ‘’Rage” with other hit songs such as: “Must be Dreaming’’ and ‘’Bicycle’’.
Today Rebels Band is one of the highest demanded bands on Statia and abroad, with the likes of Lead Singer ‘’Face’ & ‘Showtime’’ the group has managed to become the frontline of most international events.
Rebels band is awarded on Statia for best performing band, and can be spotted throughout the Caribbean, United States or Europe, on many stage shows and parties.
Being more an international band, they have never forgotten their youth memories and to this day, they are still performing as a local band in their home town, where the respect is given to them for giving back to their community. Because they are the first Soca and Versatile bands out of Statia, who are able to represent their Island internationally, they have made many others believe that once you put your mind to it you too can make it.
