These are songs from the first Thin White Line release back in 1987. Recorded on a 4 track reel to reel with just a few microphones and basic equipment, it's a great example of the punk DIY attitude of the time.

Compulsion (Better Version)

this song is from Dock of the Bus Stop, our first release. Most of our songs were pretty serious, but we did have a fun side.    

01 Pink Dots From Mars

We recorded this at Duquesne University, they had recently added a sound design major. We were Brian Cobb's class project. The songs came out well, and were the backbone of the Something Invincible release.

Magnet of Bad Luck

Balancing  Act was written while the band was working on a picket line for a local grocery union. We weren't hired so much for our activism, as we were for the somewhat scary images that we presented. It was work, and our release Welfare Dub, and this song, which was released a few years later, were the results.

This song appeared on our 7 inch we released with Smog Veil Records. It was re-released on a full length CD a few years later. This song is from the dark years when many of us were living on the edge of the law, and sometimes finding ourselves in a bit over our heads. It's less a celebration, and more a cautionary tale.

This song is from the first album, Dock of the Bus Stop. despite some blemishes, it's a decent release with some great moments. This song was always fun to play.

Babylon Kids

Young Lust was a band that predated Thin White Line by several years. I found versions of songs that Thin White Line redid later. These versions are priceless in their own way.

Gentlemen Prefer Natives

This song was part of our first release, Dock of the Bus Stop. We recorded this at a small studio on the edge of the city limits. It was one of my favorite recording sessions as it was the first time I realized how powerful our band was, and how great the legendary Robert Porter could be.
