A new and truly independent record label, Gun Horse Records (GHR), has been launched in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Mission: Make music. Record. Pay the rent. Sleep. Start over.

The music industry could be considered to be in the worst decline as an industry, but what isn’t declining? The artists and their art. We’ve recognized this shift in the music industry, and believe that the independent artist can make it without big-label subjective ideas, over-processed logistics and red tape.  GHR caters to the independent artist, and rewards the independent fan.

The music biz is now all about the artist being that “troubadour”. Artists should just simply play out, and their fan base will grow.  GHR enables this process and provides fans a truly high-end experience. In contrast, many major labels try to deconstruct ways to throw money at their packaged products. It just isn’t working.  The music is either good or it’s not.

My name is Walter Jason Hoyt V, but I go by Walt.  I was born in Northern California, a son of two cattle families.  But as many other farm or ranching family stories, it starts with the ranch getting sold.  My parents were divorced when I was four.  I moved around a few times with my mom growing up, being raised around horses, dogs and cattle.  Through my life I have had a few passions.  When I was twelve I started rodeoing, competing in team roping.  When I was 16 and I got my first truck, more passion of mine was created, and I took great care in whatever I had with wheels and an engine.  But at the end of college, with a one hundred dollar pawn shop guitar, I came to terms with my love for music.  I had always had a passion for it, but never had the confidence to believe in myself.
My mom had always sang, she had a band for a while, and always sang in the truck to every song on the radio.  I would hum along with the song, an only child to that single mom.  She always would push me to pursue music, but I resisted.  Slowly, with the consistent push of random people throughout my life asking me to sing.  I started to believe not just that I could sound good, but maybe I could do something that made other’s lives better from the possibility of making beautiful noise.  I owe my sound to not only the singing from my mom throughout my life, but also a guitar that was handed to me by my grandma after my grandpa died in prison on a life sentence.  I never got to hear him play it, but I like to think if he knew I was playing it now, it would put a smile on his face.  
When I was younger, I use to be able to saddle up a horse and ride away.  When I got my first truck, I could get it running, and drive away.  But when in college, surrounded by city, my guitar became my way out.

DJ Ryu has been active professionally for 10+ years and plays everything from party starting Funk & Soul, Hip-Hop, Disco & Boogie, to more club orientated sounds of Indie-Dance, House, Electro & Breaks. Always armed with a healthy dose of remixes, re-edits & secret weapons to keep every dancefloor going all night long. 

Ryu is also the head of London founded party brand 'Rockit Science' and has played alongside Massive Attacks' Daddy G, Portishead's Andy Smith, Bill Brewster, A-Skillz, The Nextmen, Normski, Cut La Roc, Psychemagik, Midfield General, Deadly Avenger, Leo Zero, Mighty Mouse, FC Kahuna, Leftside Wobble, Cosmonauts, Punks Jump Up, The C90s, Mojo Filter and Dean Sunshine Smith.

Ryu relocated to Bristol in 2014 and continues to push the Rockit Science sound. Throughout my life, music has been my constant companion, comforting me in gloomy times and inspiring me in happy times.

For me, there is no better way to express feelings than singing accompanied by my guitar.

Growing up with horses, my professional path led me first into equine sports, especially int Cutting, a discipline of western riding, which is ridden on horses working cattle. For the past 10 years, I have successfully showed Cutting Horses in Europe and the USA and was on the board of the National Cutting Horse Association of Germany for 6 years, most of this time as president.

Influenced by the cowboy lifestyle, country music owns a big part of my musical passion. In various performances at family and friends events, I was always told, to do more with music in my life.

As a result, the desire to record 2 self-written songs in Nashville one day got priority on my bucketlist. I fulfilled this wish in March 2018. I had not hoped to come back to Germany with more than a burned CD with my 2 own songs on it for my CD shelf at home.

However, my vocal coach and recording studio, Kristin K. Smith, saw things differently and as the song was recorded, she gave me advice to publish the song in different ways and to give my music a new status in future.

Shortly after the release on 06/23/2018, the single is on the radio in Europe, in the US and also Canada, over 4,000 fans registered on my Facebook page within only 2 weeks. The fans come from all over Europe, USA and Canada. Of course, I am pretty proud that my music is so well received in the home country of country music, the US. The music video of “Push That Horn” was also viewed over 10,000 times on Youtube and Facebook in the first 2 weeks.

First appearances in Nashville at songwriter nights have convinced me, that I can actually reach many people with my music, with my own songs and that not only my friends and family are enthusiastic about my singing.

In addition to writing writing new songs and future recordings in Nashville, you can book me for Countrymusic Events, weddings, birthdays, city festivals, motorcycle rallies, pubs, whiskey tastings, company parties, bachelor parties, business launches, and funerals. My repertoire ranges from classical titles to modern pieces of the country / folk section and also includes the pieces written by myself.

From 10/21/2018 until 11/10/2018 i had been in Nashville to record new songs, which will be released every 6 weeks, starting 11/15/2018 with a new version of 'Push That Horn' with female background vocals by Mel Georg.

It was a great experience to track the instruments at Saxman Studios and vocals at Sound Emporium Studios and see the songs come to life with the great people involved in the project.

After all new songs will be released as singles, they will be part of my upcoming first album in 2020.

Remix extraordinaire, one off inside bullshit joke horse beater, general deadweight... it can be no other than legendary DJ Lower Intestines, spinning the sickest and raddest "satanic disco house" known to man. After spending a few weeks in the offensive Weymouth College Grindcore outfit alongside SS Pancreas, Arnold Shitsticks, Cat Food and Dog Food (who were chucked instantly because they were bollocks), Dr. Achievement (PHD... in achieving) decided to go his own way and push his creative drive into what would be known to the world as satanic disco house: mixing jokes no one will get, terrible local bands, awful dutch gabber, and general wankery into one sickass mix of ridiculous timewasting Oscar worthy bullshit.

After coining the genre, Lower Intestines got bored of annoying scenekids found on MySpace over MSN, and went on to produce top hit Anus Milkshake (Dale Winton's), which features the former Super Market Sweep mastermind Wale Dinton, Six Pence, local black band "Gaywoth" and a whole host of other screaming twats, Anus Milkshake rocketed up the charts to place 666 and lived off the fame for three years. The track can be heard in your local Finn's pub if you look hard enough.

Eventually it was time to fire up the audio recorder and fool around with more of people's precious work. Will there be an end to this madness?

Jim Says - We're a collective of mostly non-musicians, who twiddle with knob and sliders, and try and push the right buttons and keys at the right time, whatever that is? We beginning in the chaos that we call primeval soup, chance happenings or coincidences occur, this is probably are the basis of everything and the natural order of things. - So it happens and evolves, we do what we can, but when its at its best, the universe, elemental energy or something like that brings it all together in an unexplainable and very satisfying flux, so here we are in this unlikely situation where I'm talking to you! Anything can happen, there are no rules ; )

Formed in 2003, The Final Sigh have taken massive steps in the underground and mainstream music channels. From self financed EP releses to major exposure which includes splits with Corpo's RSJ, stateside publication with Rotting Corpse Records' Raw Aggression compliation, and then the critically acclaimed debut album "If You're Not Part of the Solution, You're Part of the Problem" released with Anticulture Records which in turn lead to a Metal Hammer profile of the band. After several changes to the line up and a long writing period, The Final Sigh have found a stable platform to build on. Bringing in a new vocalist and bass player has added extra dynamics to the band, and they are currently recording the second full album penciled for an early 2010 release.

Where most bands will pigeon-hole themselves into a genre, The Final Sigh have always made classification near impossible with carefully crafted material that flows seamlessly between diving riffs and relaxed melody, whilst being able to crack eardrums in the same bar as subtle layered ambient breaks. Unconcerned by the traditional expectations of what a "metal" band should be, the band continue to push themselves whilst maintaining a ferocious and atmospheric live performance.

Despite some time out to record, The Final Sigh are no strangers to the live circuit, with multiple UK tours under their belts, including main support for Horse The Band's "Mechanical Hand" tour. The band has also been seen sharing a stage with, amongst others, The Blueprint, Stand Up Guy, Chickenhawk, Beecher, American Head Charge, Bring Me The Horizon, Cephalic Carnage, Fei Comodo, Last Chance To Dance, Red Stars Parade, God Forbid, Caliban, Templeton Pek, Panic Cell, Enter Shikari, The Letters Organize, Bossk, Red Sparowes and Devil Sold His Soul.

The Final Sigh have returned. With numerous shows already under the belts of the new line up, results have been extremely positive. Come see for yourself.
