@believethehype262:   @believethehype262: Thank you but I really didn't do much. The main thing with outdoors is the wind. Unless you're protected by walls or other barriers, you need socks. (That's what I use.) Then make sur you have the rec level well adjusted, and finally consider everything that may add or remove some of the natural/ambient reverberation/amplification. For example in another track I put the H4n on a wooden pick-nick table, without any damper undrneath, that way I figure some of the lower bass is amplified a little ... or a lot. In addition to that, for the same purpose of amplifying the very low bass, I turned the microphones *away* from the source, towards the outside building wall, with two walls on each side, a sort of enclave about 3 metes deep..

Recorded with a Zoom H4n, 44,1k Hz stereo.  The file is 16 bit wav format.  Nothing was done to the sound, except the short fade in and fade out.  It's raw audio.  If some level of compression was applied at all, it was the microphones themselves that did it.

Sputtering Air Valves (2013-07-17)

For all the tracks in this playlist, I was positioned about 15 meters from the port installations, next to my current--well, not really cause now I'm out of work, cause I don't know if you've heard but...--place of employment. That is part of why I can do all this in Soundcloud, cause I have some free time.  If I worked full time, I could only do about one fifth of what I do now in the same amount of time, the playlists essentially.

I have tried to keep the "peaks" out of those recordings, but a small number of short ones have slipped through my net.  I hope you will forgive my weakness, or lack of rigour (rigor).  Please feel free, and I encourage you to do so, to inform me if there are any malfunctions with these tracks, or incorrect information associated with them, like the "metadata" that is introduced when I ... forget it.  I'm sick of that stuff.

I hope these can be useful for people who want to make music with them.  Some where I hit something repeatedly, will probably have to be chopped into individual samples, to be used as more or less traditional samples for samplers.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access. No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
