This recording was during the night/early morning from the back of our tent. I setup 2 mics to capture a stereo image of Hyenas calling nearby.
This is one of a few different recordings that morning.

First clip is the adult Wild Dog barking, second clip is the Wild Dog pups calling out for mom and dad. Next is a close encounter with 3 Lions on foot, the last is a growl from a Lion taken from our 4WD.

"The shearwater is the most abundant Australian seabird. Approximately 23 million short-tailed shearwaters breed in about 285 colonies in south-eastern Australia from September to April. Eighteen million of these arrive in Tasmania each year. There are known to be at least 167 colonies in Tasmania and an estimated 11.4 million burrows. The largest colony is on Babel Island which has three million burrows. Their colonies are usually found on headlands and islands covered with tussocks and succulent vegetation such as pigface and iceplant. Headlands allow for easy take off and landing."

Short-tailed Shearwater birds

Recording taken at Phillip Island Penguin Parade after dark, roughly 9:30 pm. Conditions were rainy and windy. 
A Stereo matched pair was used via Rode NT5's with D.I.Y wind protection.
