First Father/Daughter when you were 4, danced on my feet till they were sore
The first day I walked you down to your preschool.
bicycle, scooters and your first skates, new best friends, and new classmates, 
then the first time you learned that Dads aren't always cool.

First over-nighter with your friend down the street, I acted brave, I pretended to sleep, but, you didn't miss me at all, like I hoped you might.

You made me proud with your trophies and ribbons, first violin, your awards and baptism,           and seeing your bright smile with the braces gone.
You had me scared when you drove away, in your first car, a beat-up Chevrolet
		     and your first date when you stayed out way too long.

Those Summer days at Camp Tomahawk, I missed you then and I wanted to talk, but  
you were so busy, with your new friends that night.
