Heartbreak Alert: my mother passed away in 2020 and me giving up on music because of my "bad face" disappointed her more than anyone. When she passed, I couldn't cry, she wouldn't let me. She filled my head with melodies. And that's when I began writing all these songs I'm bombarding you with. No one will ever love me like that woman, I'd never belonged to anyone before.... For me the process always starts with a melody and a simple phrase, in this case... "Where do I belong if it ain't beside you...?" This is raw, unfinished, and hurts to share, but I thought I'd take a break to honor the source material ahead of her birthday. =)
