J'me suis fait un Jeune

Human abominations are planty, and nothing will wipe the blood of wars. All we can do is to remember. As part of arts, music contributes to collective memory. With this album, i tend to immerge the listener in these terrible years of Vietnam War, of nuclear tensions (between USA and USSR) and massive political corruption, over there, in the heart of U.S nation.

Times where absurdies and atrocities lived together with an outstanding awakening of people consciousness. These particular historical moments created a sort of « breach » in our minds and within our systems. The results of this chock are still here in us.

That’s what my first album « Breach » wanted to explore, to feel, to focus on and to share : human madness of yesterday.

Written and recorded fastly in the last couple of months, in the rush of this strange covid-fever, « Breach » is also an artistic fracture between rock and electronic music. With the use of proper field-recordings and speech archives (both techniques are a premiere for me), with these twisted guitars and these deep-textured  synthetizers, « Breach » is the achievement of Lichen universe, perhaps the most personnal and experimental of its releases.

All the songs are structurated around those speeches. « Breach » is a way more ambient-oriented album rather than a traditionnal dynamic-rock or EDM album. With the dialogues as a frame, the rest of the instruments are slowly moving around, from silence to noise.

Whether wide and epic or introspective and gloomy, these 7 tracks are for sure a breathfull invitation to explore the lofi side of a universal and dirty memory.
