Hi, I’m SugarSynth; an ongoing art project by Ashley Koopstra.

Crafting sound gives voice to the parts of my mind that are otherwise left on mute. 💜 I create electronic tracks that blur the line between melody, malfunction, retro vibes and heavy bass; ruthlessly using whatever tools I need to bring my vision to life. My workflow is unique: I write lyrics, record sounds, mix them, and produce melodies, I then use the most modern software and tools to sculpt, optimize, polish and create unique sounds in great quality. My vocals are heavily modified. Every sound I shape is a way to connect, to make the invisible feel a little more real.

I’m not chasing perfection. I’m chasing resonance and connection. If something in my sounds or visuals evokes emotion; that’s everything.
