The lead single (GRWTH.) was written in Manchester UK when Charles decided he “just needed to get away and collect his thoughts”. 

Befriending locals in the northern UK in bars and venues alike, Charles found himself in an empty pub one night jotting down his thoughts and came out (Here We Are). A culmination of his latest in self discovery and realizing his ethos that has been instilled in from the villages and family that raised him.


 "GRWTH. came about as I started focusing more on my health this past year. Being a full-time independent artist brings a lot of stress, and with that stress come unhealthy coping mechanisms—late nights, long hours, junk food, and distractions. GRWTH. was my way of embracing the idea that the only way out is through. It meant facing the discomfort of addressing things I had either pushed aside or wasn’t even aware of. That’s what I mean when I say “healing looks different to me”. We all have some idea of how things are supposed to unfold, but when we really try to address them, we realize it’s a lot more challenging—and more interconnected with every aspect of our lives—than we thought. The line 'slow motion as I walk through the ocean of my past mistakes' speaks to the deep introspection I had to do, diving into some of the choices I’d made and really trying to understand why I made them. It was a painful realization, and I feared I might never be able to break those habits; which is where the bridge stems from when I say that “i'm afraid of my flaws and i'm afraid I’ll stay lost”. In the end, it all culminates in a kind of emotional tornado—a whirlwind of everything I’ve go through. And even though it can be overwhelming at times, the one thing I’ve learned through this process is that trying to be better is all we can do. And that’s a never-ending goal throughout life."

I wrote this track about coming to the end of a long period of being unable to move forward due to holding onto things in the past. It is about finally accepting that certain stories in life have their endings and understanding there is no use in holding on to what was not meant to continue, such as old dreams, old friendships or places that used to be home.
