Dead Buddhas is led by composer/multi-instrumentalist Roy Salinas, beginning as solo project with idea to infuse Rhythmic movements from the likes of Radiohead/tool, and with instrumental progressions from Red Sparrows/King Crimson. A true test of creative experience in the years it took to write Dead Buddhas first album release "God is not the author of stupidity" became a stepping stone for their next album they are currently producing. Since then the band has grown to include two additional band members as it stands today, composer/multi-instrumentalist/drummer Ray Anthony and composer/multi-instrumentalist/Bassist Greg Esparza. 

Our 'God is not the author of stupidity' album  is more like a catalog of unfinished potential that never went past concept stages, it was written during a time when Dead Buddhas was in a musically different direction. We performed and wrote music for the sake of experimenting with different techniques and styles and along the way you go through this mindset where you think you discovered something astonishing, but you only rehashed your inspirations subconsciously. The success to every aspiring musician or band is that you gotta move ahead to evolve, even though you may leave behind all the things you love with what your comfortable with. The songs on 'God is not the author of stupidity' date back to 2006, I compiled the best of those compositions, packed and wrapped them in this nifty little album of ours. Born from a cramped kitchen conversation, Dead Social Club are a six piece alt-indie band consisting of Steve (keys) Paul (vocals) Joel (guitar) Rich (guitar) and the alliance of rhythm section Nic Gilham (bass) and Nick Gillam (drums).

Gig has followed gig including; headlining the Foals after-party in Brixton, gracing the 2,000 capacity London Scala with Bloc Party DJ’ing, playing Conincx Pop Festival in Holland (with The Boxer Rebellion and The Crookes) and numerous UK summer festivals.

We have attracted multiple airplay on BBC 6 (tracks of the week podcast/national airplay), BBC London, BBC Introducing, Absolute radio (track of the week), Phantom FM and Amazing Radio and in the UK, as well as further afield in Canada and The U.S. 

Online, our songs have been used for videos (FHM), been made free download of the week by O’Neil (the massive surf brand not the faux Irish pub chain) and had a track selected by Music Week for their ‘sound of the summer 2012’.

Let’s first say, it is refreshing to hear a band so unselfconscious as Dead Social Club. Electronica? Check. Keyboards? Check. A sound that pitches itself somewhere in the interstellar region between Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and Simple Minds? Closer still. It is pop, and it’s not pop. It’s rock, and it’s not even rock. Guitars don’t seem to matter to DSC as much as good song-writing and nifty fingers at the effects station, though when they come to the fore there are some striking riffs on ‘Syrian Kisses’, particularly on single ‘Let Love Die’.

Here is my story...It was the Rock and Roll 1970's, and as my eyes looked down upon the current "Top Forty Nifty Fifty" music chart, I had no idea that the first two songs I had ever written, would send me on a wild ride which would be the most fun a young single man in his twenties could ever experience. But there it was, "Love and The Last Days" by my band "The Quest - Top Ten on the Nifty Fifty" and ahead of The Beatles songs. 

Wow! I did not know it at the time but, I was a big fish in a small pond, which has big advantages. Yeah, I wasn't in New York, Chicago or L.A. This was the La Crosse, Wisconsin "Nifty Fifty." I was a local rock star, and trust me, the stories about the life of a rock star are all true. Just like the lyrics to another hit song, I was eating cake by the river, Yah Yah Yah Yah Yah Yah! Being in a successful rock band  in your twenties, be it even in a small pond, you will never have more fun in your entire life. 

My story really begins as a little boy always listening to the radio shows coming out of Chicago while in the barn on our family dairy farm. I would sing into empty barrels to get the reverb sound, while dreaming of singing my own songs on the radio, and being on the radio as a broadcaster like Paul Harvey or Don McNeil. Well, to keep a long story short, after leaving the green pastures of Wisconsin, and jumping headlong into the Big Pond, I became a very successful Sales Executive with Memorex and Polaroid. I found myself swimming in that big pond with superstars and big parties. This allowed me the freedom to write more music in the late 90's. 

But, my music was interrupted, as luck would have it, for the chance to fullfill that little farm boy's other dream...that of being a Radio Broadcaster on a major Chicago radio station. For the next seven years, I was Co-Host of Chicago's Longest Running Health News And Science Show, HealthQuest Radio on WIND. Wow! And here I was interviewing on the air, the man who sang the "Most Played Song In Radio History...You Lost That Lovin Feeling." Yep, Bill Medley of The Righteous Brothers. That's Righteous Brother! 

Having put that dream to bed, I am now back in the Music Business. Or, as I call it , The Fun Business. Now you get to listen to my solo work done in my basement in the late nineties. Only three of these were done in a studio with other musicians. They are still a work in progress but hey, wouldn't it be fun to put your ear to someone's basement window, and hear them having too much fun with a Fostex 4-Track tape recorder. You know, listen to a possible hit song, at its conception/birth. Enjoy the title song of my future CD titled Ancient Eyes. Oh, and about that hit song I had back in the 70's? Check back here as I will be converting it from vinyl and posting it. 

Oh, and Hey Kids! Remember to "Dream Big," choose wisely, and "Believe In The Magic Of Your Dreams." And just like the lyrics to my song posted on this site, "Back To School." Ride the highway west and don't look back. All the good things are waiting for you!

 Musician that's been more or less out of "the Game" Since 2002 or so. Recently fixed up an old Dell Optiplex Gn Pentium 200mhz PC with my old Awe64 in it so I could get back into Impulse Tracker, Which is my preferred tool 
at the moment. I tend to use a lot of breakloops but am starting to create my own patches, SynthLoops and the like through my DSi and the many nifty apps and keyboards available for it, Particularly KorgDS10-Plus which is
a damned handly lil' piece of software. :D

Maps Need Reading is a four-piece art rock band based in Knoxville, Tennessee. The band fuses elements of jazz, indie, and post rock, creating a hybrid sound that equally satisfies the tastes of both progressive rock and pop fans alike. 

Guitarist David Webb, bassist Nathan Patterson, and guitarist/keyboardist Chris Burgess formed The Renaissants during their high school years, creating nifty indie pop music that slowly drifted toward more odd time signatures and dynamic arrangements. The three musicians formed Maps Need Reading in 2011 by adding drummer Jordan Sexton, whose style allowed the band to further develop a more progressive, post-rock-influenced sound. In 2014, Sexton left the band and was replaced by childhood friend and University of Tennessee music school companion DJ Young. 

Moving forward with Young, the band has further diversified its sound while continuing to refine the core audible elements that have kept fans coming back—long, dynamic orchestrations that combine deep, dissonant noise and danceable indie pop aesthetics. Each member of the band contributes their own respective influences to the writing process, and that diversity allows for songs that span all across the musical spectrum. The band released its Hopes for Chemistry EP in August, 2015, and has used the positive momentum the album has received to begin pushing their sound outside Knoxville.
