Smart, dark and moody, Melbourne four piece Howl at the Moon can most likely be found executing their breath-taking music around Melbourne's inner North.

Vocals soar, whisper, ache and accuse as tales of self-despair, abandon, murder and camaraderie lead you over hills, to the ocean, through the desert and in to the woods on a carpet of sparkling guitars, intricate drums and rumbling bass, creating an atmosphere that has earned the band a reputation as an enthralling act, with a loyal following of music-lovers and musicians alike.

Since their standalone single Janet Leigh hit airwaves in early 2011, Howl at the Moon have be busy recording their debut album, to be released in early 2012.

Sword Fighting, is the first single from Howl At The Moon's upcoming long player (YET TO BE NAMED). An exegesis on the disintegration of romantic relationships; whilst hinting at hurt and anger, Sword Fighting is an ultimately hopeful track. Bittersweet rather than malicious, the track's final rejoinder, 'Oh, I forgot about you', isn't an angry parting shot but rather a shared wish for better times ahead.

Musically, Sword Fighting is in turns tempered and fiercely passionate. Flowing in the verses and crashing in the choruses, Sword Fighting stunningly replicates the emotional turmoil it describes. This ability to deftly maintain control in the face of chaos if further evidenced by Sword Fighting's single mate 'Let The Mainsheet Down, My Love'. A wrought and enticing proposition, the track further showcases Howl At The Moon's uncanny ability to musically translate complex emotions.
