WNUR is a non-commercial, listener-supported radio station broadcasting at a frequency of 89.3 MHz FM and a power of 7200 watts. The WNUR studios are located in Louis Hall, on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and the station produces a signal that can be heard by nearly 3 million potential listeners throughout Chicagoland. WNUR also streams on the Web to listeners around the world at http://www.wnur.org. 

Through its programming, WNUR strives to provide a forum for underrepresented music and ideas. By pursuing the cultural, intellectual, and artistic aspects of radio, WNUR promotes musicians, musical genres, news, public affairs issues, and athletic events often overlooked by major media outlets. Additionally, because it is completely independent of commercial pressures, WNUR has the opportunity to provide unique and challenging programming to the Northwestern, Evanston, and Chicago communities no matter how unpopular or controversial.

Growing up in South Carolina having his 1st drum set at the tender age of three , it was clear that music was DJ Smoov Beatz calling, making beats for several artists as well as having his beats used in the NFL workout,there is not doubt DJ Smoov Beatz is not only a brand but a household name. Smoov has a unique sound, creating ground shaking music ,making him a mind blowing phenomenon. When asked what ignites his passion for music he humbly replied "life is my soundtrack," when asked to explain ,he simply said" When I was at a point of desperation or some of my lowest periods in life, my life experiences provided my inspiration to make music. Music was my outlet it fueled me & shined a mighty light on my life". There's no question that DJ Smoov beats will be rocking crowds from 18 t0 80 for years to come.

Samy Jo is a Houston-based country, blues and rock cover entertainer who has delighted the young and young at heart for more than two decades. Her unique blend of southern rock, dipped in blues with a country shell only compliments her natural stage presence, charismatic personality and winning smile.

Starting in her hometown church, Samy developed not only a passion for God, but a entrancing draw to the stage at the tender age of nine. From there, with the help of her entire immediate family, she went on to perform at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, The Houston Children's Festival, The Grand Ole Opry, Fan Fair and many more local venues and festivals.

As Samy grew, so did her voice and versatility. Samy has mastered the genres of gospel, R&B, pop, Disney, Broadway, blues, rock and country, but it wasn't until her adult years did she combine the edginess of rock with the raw emotion of blues and mixed it with the classic sound of country. With this unique sound Samy Jo has entertained audiences throughout the lone star state at Music World Entertainment, the Red Cat Cafe, Baker St Pub, McGoniel's Mucky Duck & Doesy Doe with so much more to come and no end in sight.
