The name "shut up and listen to the music", or "shut up" in short, has a story behind it. The small group of friends that founded shut up, had grown tired of the general ambiance at parties in their native Lahore. People would come and chit chat and mingle...the music had long since fallen in the background. They envisioned an event which would be more about the music than anything else. Where music would be at the forefront and no one would be more important than it. That's how...."Shut up...and listen to the music" was born.


Cornelius Ferguson a.k.a. Traxman And Better know as Corky Strong is from the West Side of Chicago and one of the longest serving producers working in House and Footwork with releases stretching back to the glory days of Ghetto House on Dance Mania records in the nineties. He’s also one of the co-founders of Chicago's two-decades- G.E.T.O DJZ INC clique and a member of DJ Rashad & DJ Spinn's Teklife CREW And the founder of TEKK DJZ
crew and has recorded with power house lables like dance mania' planet mu' Dizzy Tunes' chi wax' litcity trax' booty tune' booty call records Raw wax and also was one of the creators of the legendary mixtapes on coloured cassettes which were the prototype for Juke and Footwork's evolution. His unique brand of Footwork is very strongly rooted in Chicago's history of Soul, Funk, House and Ghetto Trax; he’s a veteran and renowned crate digger who has provided the sample sources for many of House' Juke and Footwork's classic tracks over the years. His deep knowledge of music (check the mixes he occasionally throws up on the net) makes him one of the city’s most versatile and skilled DJs and producers.

Traxman's own productions are an incredibly well rounded suture between hip hop’s natural funk and resourceful sample flipping, the hyper-kinetic innovation of footwork’s stop-start, half-time to double-speed drum programming and a deep respect and understanding of Chicago’s House past, that few producers can match; His mixes are a testament to this man's skills.

First became addicted to “HOUSE MUSIC” in 87 when he first heard the first drop of the needle on the WBMX 102.7 radio show. After being an avid listener to the radio show for three (3) in 1990 He finally decided to join the ranks of DJing, Following in the footsteps of some of his favorite D J’s like mike Hitman Wilson, Bad Boy Bill, and all of the Hot mix 5 guys. After Honing his skills through the years of 91-98 doing countless basement, warehouse and underground parties he has been able to play alongside some well know and established DJ's of our time from the likes of CZR, LEGO, Paul Johnson, Frankie Vega, Rees urban, and Derrick Carter, Just to name a few, After a three year Hiatus from the scene He made a comeback Coming on board With Accomplice Productions where He started getting into the rave scene almost Simultaneously Started with Eclectic Grooves and House Arrest where he has been playing Countless well known clubs like Zentra, Spybar, Since then he has been an integral part of Static Thursdays which he worked along Side Of Eclectic Grooves founder K'NEX and is now partner With Accomplice Productions and is part of a very successful series. The Kickin' it Old School Series, In 2007 Vinnie Accardo and well known DJ Eric Garcia formed The No Ratz crew which is now an up and coming crew in Chicago where they not only recruit DJ’s but Performers, Such as Smooth Sax player DJ Los and Percussionist Danny Cheeto Of Cheeto Percussion. Vinnie Accardo is now a regular On The Wise Guy radio Show here in Chicago. And has now been playing outside of Chicago In the Past couple of years he has Played the 2012WMC in Miami, Played in Milwaukee, as well as Las Vegas. With over 100 clubs and Raves played Be on the look out for this Up and coming DJ Vinnie Accardo for he may be playing A venue Near you.
