30 some odd Years ago,

Some explicit moments ,that will not be detailed here, happened on an outer island beach between a man and woman.
9 months later , Taban was born.

He is named after his grandfather.
He is of average height and weight.
He has a soft spot for turtles.
Is an avid reader and cartographer.


In his teens he was moved to Hawaii for study. During this time he was introduced to hip hop, trip hop and "anything broken" as he would later describe it. He decided that chill out and downtempo had been his vice, other than rum and maybe some "pakalolo" here and there. Eventually he made a choice to devote his time to music. In its most relaxed form.

He spends his time making music, swinging on hammocks, sipping good rum, and just being.

The duo of DJ Moneyshot and Rackabeat have been delighting dance-floors and lighting up the radio airwaves since forming The Allergies and releasing their debut album in 2016.

Year in, year out, they’ve sharpened their skills on the turntables and in the studio, dropping one dynamite record after another. Clocking up ‘Album of The Day’ gongs, international ad and TV campaign spots, and Radio 6 Music A-list status, the pair show no sign of hitting the breaks.

After consecutive top 40 albums, the boys are getting ready to cut the ribbon on their next, BENEATH THIS SUN. And it’s another stellar showcase for their feel-good funk, soul sampling savvy, and heavyweight hip-hop.

This year they’ll be taking to stages, tents, fields, and cities, supporting the album with their ‘full-band’ live show. But, if you want to catch them in their element, check Moneyshot and Rackabeat cutting up the wax, too, as they take their DJ show to clubs and festivals, far and wide. From Space and Pikes in Ibiza to Glastonbury festival, they’ve shook stages and rocked spots.

So, if you like crazy turntable skills, hands-in-the-air beats, all mixed up with some classy crowd rocking music, then an Allergies double-decking DJ set will be right up your street.

Modyfier is an Artist’s platform: it’s an idea acting as energy, it’s an experiment in accrual (as a collection), it’s an attitude that rides creativity and freedom. The Process Series relies on referral as people who participate each suggest someone else, creating its form, shifting in directions I would not be able to steer alone. Matthew Barney once said this about his early ‘Drawing Restraint’ work that really struck me: “I was thinking about how the body functions in training – how the muscle breaks down under resistance and then heals larger and stronger. I was trying to use that process of resistance to create form.”

I started making music around 1997, starting with the infamous fasttracker II, then transitioning to Propellerheads Reason, Cubase and the likes. My main musical influences are HipHop and Electro.
