Mean  Blue  Planets  are  an  original  musical  collective  from  the  Pittsburgh,  PA  area.  The  music  has  been  described  as  equal  parts  of  Funk,  Soul,  and  Cosmic  Rock.

Mean  Blue  Planets  formed  in  the  latter  part  of  2017.  Being  Andre  and  Kyle’s  vision  for  an  eclectic  form  of  soul  focused  on  purposeful  vocals,  the  two  quickly  sought  the  services  of  Justin  and  Ray,  who  brought  influences  of  jazz,  rock,  and  funk  to  the  group.  The  addition  of  Charlene  brought  another  vocal  presence  and  soaring  harmonies  to  the  mix.  The  group  added  veteran  guitar  player  Gary Schaeffer  in  the  summer  of  2018.  Having  members  from  a  wide  range  of  different  musical  backgrounds,  the  band  has  drawn  on  each  of  their  individual  influences  and  styles  to  create  a  unique  musical  experience. Dan Bubien & the Delta Struts put a contemporary spin on soulful roots music. We just finished mixing for Dan's 3rd studio album in 5 years and together the band's 1st.  We are currently looking for labels, promoters, publicists, distributors and booking agents to work with. The Delta Struts are driven by the dynamic guitar playing duo of Shawn Mazzei and Dan Bubien, along with Bubien’s soulful gritty vocals. Their signature sound is highlighted by the precision playing and deep toned-full sound of drummer Mark Pollera and glued together by Christian Caputo’s steady, groove oriented bass playing.
Dan Bubien is a singer/songwriter/guitarist from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. With a career that spans over two decades, Dan and his band the “Delta Struts” are constantly refining and redefining their craft with a wide palette of tones and textures, sounds and styles, to express their songwriting through an open, honest and wide catalogue of real songs.  Rooted in soul versed in styles from blues to funk, roots-rock to reggae, alt-country to singer/songwriter.  “Dan Bubien & the Delta Struts” are:  Dan Bubien – guitar/vocals, Shawn Mazzei – guitar, Mark Pollera – drums, Christian Caputo – bass.
Dan began his career in his mid-teens by working the bar and club circuit in and around his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.  In 2004 Dan started the band The Sun Kings which would carry him through the next decade. In 2006 they released an album of original material called “Rub Up In It”.
In 2013 Dan released “Empty Roads”. A self-produced solo record recorded with four-time Grammy Award Winning Producer/Engineer Jay Dudt at Audible Images Studio in Pittsburgh. “The best collection of songs I’ve worked on in years” says Dudt.
In August 2016, Dan released his second solo Album “Grinding These Gears”, self- produced and recorded by legendary Pittsburgh musician Joe Munroe. The album is a rootsy collection of original contemporary blues and soul songs tied together by classic instrumentation, soulful vocals and contemporary songwriting.
