Rooted in the same hometown as James Brown, a young Kail Baxley came to know the legendary musician on a first name basis while visiting his mother in prison.  After a short stint as an amateur boxer, Baxley learned guitar in his early 20s from a mechanic and moved to LA to pursue music.  Baxley spent two years living in an RV on Selma Blvd. in order to cut his first records, one of which ended up becoming an NPR nominated album of the year.. With little help from industry,  most of his fans discovered Baxley via word of mouth and coffeeshop/dive bar performances.

Always with their finger on the pulse, NPR and KCRW became early adopters and  2016 became a milestone year for Baxley. His first show at the revered Troubadour received an encore (as the opener, no less). He played sold out shows with Michael Kiwanuka, Marlon Williams and KT Tunstall. With little promotion, his spotify streams clocked in at 1 million. A well-placed song in tv show The Path led to performing to 10,000 awe stricken new fans at Edmonton Folk festival.

This year, Baxley continues his slow-burn legacy with two new singles “Killin’ Floor” and “High on the Moon.” Recruiting Gus Seyffert to produce (Beck, Black Keys), the new tunes carry on Baxley’s signature breathtaking voice and heart wrenching lyrics.

Known for diverse sounds and head nodding beats, That Anton will have you moving. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, and now a “Vancouver household name,” his musical style is full spectrum. Hip hop, trip hop, downtempo, reggae, house, world beats, and all manner of bass music are all in his repertoire. All of the above are blended skillfully and sprinkled with a healthy dose of turntablism. It’s easy listening for the discerning ear. From dance floors in forests (Shambhala, Bass Coast, Astral Harvest, Luminosity, and many more) to that mix that was playing at your favourite restaurant last night, That Anton style is always pleasing crowds.

A strict vegetarian when he is sober, Tim Livingstone doesn’t let an obvious lack of skills or talent hold him back.  A recent survey found that 69% of people would prefer listening to Justin Bieber’s grandma sing “Kumbaya” for 420 hours straight rather than Tim trainwreck again on the turntables.  As if being an incompetent DJ wasn’t enough, he is now producing god-awful original tracks and butchering classic songs with his remixes.  Someone’s crying Lord, Kumbaya.
