Adam Ellis’s career as a DJ, music producer, and tutor has gained worldwide recognition through his many notable achievements. From the dance floor to behind the decks, he has built a reputation as a skilled record producer and DJ, refining his craft through years of dedication and hard work.
Adam’s success as a producer is demonstrated by an outstanding track record over the past decade, including eight Beatport Number 1 releases and numerous top 5 and top 10 hits. His production expertise, along with the prestigious labels he has worked with—such as Armada, Monster Tunes, In Trance We Trust, Kearnage, Subculture, FSOE, Perfecto, Mental Asylum, and Vandit—reflects his standing and respect within the trance music scene.
In recent years, Adam has shifted his focus towards his fast-growing one-to-one tuition business, which has helped shape many world-class trance producers over the past ten years.

Hailing from Belfast, Northern Ireland, Shugz combines high-energy, air-tight mixing and electrifying productions to boot. From humble beginnings rising through the ranks in Trance to now diversifying with a more polished open-format sound whilst still maintaining the sounds of his early influences and roots. Shugz’ sound breaks down the barriers of dance music, no rules and straight up energy is a mainstay in his productions and live sets, with no problems producing a plethora of unique styles including Techno, Trance, Hard Techno as well a more recent commercial sound. 

  

Starting 2024 with a bang, the Belfast man secured himself a multi-track major record deal with one of the biggest record labels in the world in Colombia Records/Room Two, pinning himself alongside of the world’s global elite artists such as Calvin Harris, Adele, Daft Punk & Harry Styles to name a few. Shugz’ musical accolades do not stop there, with already requested remixes from MK, Rita Ora & Joel Corry to compliment his new deal & ability. 

  

In 2023 he produced a total of 38 tracks and accumulated an impressive 12.5 million Soundcloud streams with each one of his Soundcloud uploads hitting the "New & Hot" chart consistently as well as a top 3 "All Music Chart" hit with "King of My Castle". 

  

Shugz also is no stranger to the world’s dance music circuit, with a stacked passport each year from 2016 when he started his journey professionally with his first international artist agency. Having played 41 gigs in the last 12 months alone, touching down in over 20 countries with regular tours in Australia, Asia, UK, and regular visits to South America and all over Europe.  

  

In his native Belfast he achieved local-hero status with 6 sell-out shows in the famous Telegraph Building with his own brand ‘Kill your Idols’ as well as regular summer appearances at major festivals such as Creamfields, Coloursfest, Lost Minds, Escape in the Park, Planet Love & the Felie An Phobail in Belfast.

His skill is evidenced by the vast number of chart-toppers he’s created, including ‘Need You Here’ and ‘Everybody’s Free,’ and recent Beatport number one singles ‘In and Out of My Life,’ ‘Dawn,’ ‘You Take My Breath Away,’ and ‘Bring The Noize,’ all master classes in forward-thinking, cutting-edge club music.

Adding his unique sound to remixes for Armin van Buuren, Aly & Fila, and John O’Callaghan has seen Sneijder become one of the most in-demand artists in Trance. Releasing records regularly on the industry’s most respected labels and boasting a back catalog of hit records have helped cement his name firmly amongst the list of Irish greats.

In 2023, we saw the release of his second artist album, ‘Bring The Noize,’ an album showcasing his studio versatility and ear for killer melodies. This album boosts influence from the past, present, and future sounds while showing off the true scope of his musicianship and technical abilities. His skills in production are hardly a surprise, with immense knowledge of the dance floor paired with years of cutting his teeth on the festival and club circuit, thus becoming well-versed in what sounds make the ears tick.

Now, the maverick has reached the next step of his career: label owner. Sneijder launched Afterdark as a platform for himself and other similar-caliber artists in 2016, firmly asserting his iconic status in the underground. Afterdark stands for all things dark, original, and dance floor-oriented, while also playing its part by cultivating the careers of the next generation of the Trance Elite. Afterdark has now cemented itself as one of the best and most upfront labels in Trance.

In 2023, we also saw the launch of a new project from the Sneijder studio. ‘alt1’ brings together sounds inspired by Sneijder’s past in Hardcore, Hard Trance, Rave, and even Hip Hop. Brace yourself for a main stage musical experience with no rules or boundaries.
