Understanding the importance of creating a live performance that is astonishing and impossible to forget, the members of Sovereign Sect are absolute masters at captivating a crowd and leaving them electrified.  The Fargo-based, tri-producer/drummer quartet uses nearly forty years of collective musical experience to accomplish its goal of pushing the limits of the electronic live show and annihilating their audiences. 

By incorporating innovative production styles, covering many different musical genres and utilizing the talents of three producers, Sovereign Sect is not only able to entertain audiences but also amaze listeners with a sound that is as unique as it is diverse.  This combination of Sovereign Sect’s no holds barred live performance and its multidimensional production style is a cosmic match that only results in a supersonic experience that should never be missed.

Like most seasoned house veterans in the Chicagoland area, Nick got started in 1989 after being inspired and influenced by Chicago House Music and the sounds heard on WGCI, WBMX and early B96 mix shows featuring iconic Chicago House DJs like Bad Boy Bill, Julian "Jumpin" Perez, Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Boogieman and Mike "Hitman" Wilson.
Specializing in the finest in Club/Underground Dance Music, he knows how to keep it versatile and unpredictable while covering a wide range of styles: from 80s to Electro to Disco to House to Techno and maybe an acapella or two - a spontaneous DJ who can and will play any given thing at any given time. As a proud and fortunate affiliate of the House Brotherhood crew in Rockford and founder of On The House in Cedar Rapids, Nick loves the music and plays not for himself, but for the people listening, dancing and enjoying the sounds no matter who or where they are!

Over the years Nick has also had the honor and pleasure to have shared the stage with some of the most highly regarded and respected DJ's and producers; Frankie Bones, Tyree Cooper, DJ Hyperactive, Mystic Bill, Jerome Baker, Doc Link, Roy Davis Jr and Paul Johnson and more.

Nick also currently holds a residency at The Office Niteclub in Downtown Rockford, Illinois

Chicago born and bred DJ, Producer Joseph Manumaleuna aka DJ Hyperactive needs little introduce to those versed in the history of techno. As one of Daft Punk’s “Teachers” and “brother of the humble” according to Resident Adviser, his contributions to the underground continue to span generations. Honing his skills in the highly influential scene and sound of Chicago in the early 90s, DJ Hyperactive gained instant international recognition and has since gone on to play the most legendary and lauded events and venues over the last 20 years, such as Orbit/ Leeds, Liquid Room/ Tokyo, Love Parade/ Berlin, Shelter & Smart Bar/ Chicago, Interface/ Los Angeles, Movement/ Detroit, Basement & Output/ Brooklyn, Tresor & Berghain/ Berlin and the list doesn’t stop there. Also over the course of his career, he has produced over 100 remixes and original tracks, including classics such as ‘Venus’ & ‘Wide Open’/ Missile, ‘25HRs’/ Droid, “Music Box/ ‘4Trk’, Reptilian Tank & Chicago’/Contact, Drop Bass, Communique, Hybrid, Truncate, Figure, Plus 8, CLR, Blank Code, Impact Mechanics, Illegal Alien, to name a few. DJ Hyperactive returned to Chicago 2013 to reconnect with his family and musical roots. His story continues with the difference being the experience and perspective that only a true veteran can possess.
