A four-voice fugue in D Major, suitable for playingue in the springue! 

After the exposition (B/T/A/S), there is an episode based on the descending scales of the subject. A passage of (faux) stretti ends the first half. Then there is a second exposition of the inverted subject in the relative minor (A/S/B/T), with a new countersubject; this is followed by an episode based on - what else? - the ascending scales of the inverted subject! Two final entries, both in the soprano line, end the fugue: first the inverted form in D Major, then (elided with that) a tonicized version of the soprano's first entry.
