Protagonist status in one city is high praise indeed; holding key stakes in several is something else entirely. Something that Spanish born and Scottish bred Dave Tarrida can boldly claim. 

Tarrida’s timeline begins in 1991 in Edinburgh as founder and resident of the now legendary Sativa club. Here’s where Dave met Neil Landstrumm, Tobias Schmidt and Cristian Vogel, becoming a foursome that would continue to share gigs—the others live, Dave as DJ—and labels—like Tresor, Scandinavia, Mosquito and Sativae—for the first half of their respective careers. In 1994 the club bore Sativae Recordings, which Dave manned together with Steve Glencross, spawning the sibling Drought Records imprint two years later. Around the same time Dave took to the studio, though it would be another few more years before any records would materialise.

1999 was a turning point that saw Dave return to his native Barcelona, where he would spend the following eleven years honing his production craft and exceptional deck-side manner with local residences at Moog (which he still frequents today) and Nitza, as well as Stardust in Madrid. It was the same year that Tresor released his first solo record, ‘Postmortem Pop EP’, having debuted the year prior in collaboration with Tobias Schmidt on ‘The Test EP’. He produced two albums during this period: ‘Paranoid’ in 2001 for Tresor, and ‘Life’s a Glitch’ three years later—Sativae’s final record.

In 2010 Dave relocated again, this time to Vienna where he is currently based. After two decades of happily playing the role of DJ and promoter, 2013 sees Dave shift focus back on his own productions with the unveiling of his brand new label AUTOFAKE and pending releases for Housemeister’s soon-to-be re-launched All You Can Beat stable, and Funk D'Void’s Outpost Records. Saying that, he hasn’t quite hung up the headphones just yet. As the saying goes: you can take the DJ out of the club, but you can’t take the club out of the DJ—expect to see the name Dave Tarrida on many a flyer to come.

Music is not made for just listening to, you have to feel it and understand it.. Not a lot of people have those abilities..
It's a state of mind, a way of living.
The young Teknimal grew up listening to Elvis Presley, the Stones, the Beatles, but also soul and disco...
At the age of 15, he took drum lessons and a year later his first Tama drum gear was a fact..
At that time he was rather influenced by artists like U2, The Pixies, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica......
After a period of listening to different music genres, he discovered house and techno..
In 1995 one of his friends gave him a tape and said: “Listen to it, it will blow your brains out.”
The tape was recorded in the famous Belgian club "Boccaccio" in Destelbergen.
From that moment on, his musical era changed completely and he fell in love with house and techno music.
He started to discover plenty of good clubs and d j's and had a lot of fun.
In 1996 he discovered the famous Belgian club: "Fuse"
It was such a mind blasting impressive feel good experience that in that time he went almost every week and had the chance to see and hear all his favorite d j's spinning the wheels..
Their music and clubs like Fuse have been the trigger to start his Dj career..

From that moment on, he started playing in different bars and after a year he had his first radio residency on www.rindradio.fr.
A bit later Teknimal met, through these experiences, a very talented Dj/ Producer, Kader Moulay aka Stanton Green aka Divestorm aka KmØz.
Kader and Teknimal became close friends and after a while their musical influences and compatibility resulted in a radio residency under the name TENDANCE on www.rindradio.fr.
Kader Moulay invited Teknimal to his group Deepkreationz and introduced him in to music production.
Under the name Deepkreationz, Divestorm and Teknimal signed and released two tracks on Locked Rec.

Cédric kicked off his career as a DJ and techno composer / producer
under the pseudonym "Acid Kirk" in 1993. He quickly established
himself as one of the most revered figures in the Belgian scene and
his reputation soon spread beyond his home country's borders. Between
1993 and 1997 he produced over a dozen records (now widely regarded as
classics of the genre) and regularly performed at most of the major
Belgian clubs and dance events (Fuse, Rave Explosion, Cherry Moon...).
He was also frequently booked to play abroad in a number of the
world's major cities - New York, Melbourne, Paris (Rex Club), Rome,
Vienna, Berlin (Love Parade) and Amsterdam (Melkweg) - often sharing
the bill with many of the biggest international DJs, namely Jeff
Mills, Laurent Garnier, Miss Djax, Richie Hawtin, Dave Angel and Dave
Clarke.

In 1997, driven by his growing interest in free jazz, alternative,
psychedelic ambient and experimental music - and the avant-garde in
general - he co-founded Elf Cut records and assumed the role of art
director for the label. He also launched his new project: "The
Syncopated Elevators Legacy" (S.E.L.), with which he would go on to
explore fresh sonic horizons. Over a period of four years, Elf Cut put
out ten records (including three S.E.L. releases) and quickly came to
be known as one of the more influential labels on the avant-garde
electronic music scene. S.E.L. performed at numerous venues and
events, primarily in Belgium and France (AB, Nuits de Botanique,
Halles de Schaerbeek, Festival de Dour, Recyclart, Vooruit, Zaal
Belgie, De Singel, Batofar (FR), Festival Multimédia de Créteil (Fr),
Centre Culturel de Nantes (FR)...). S.E.L. records were
enthusiastically received by a number of prestigious artists
(Christian Fennesz, Vibracathedral Orchestra, My Cat Is An Alien) and
a few of the tracks even caught the attention of the late John Peel,
who played them on his legendary BBC radio show.

Between 2000 and 2004 Cédric composed the music for three productions
by choreographer Bud Blumenthal: "Les Entrailles de Narcisse", "Red
Cliff" and "Les Sentiers d'Ulysses". In 2003 the Flemish Community commissioned him to reinterpret a work by the contemporary music group "Hermes Ensemble", which he performed at the Theaterzaal in Vooruit, sharing the bill with pianist Kris Defoort and the Hermes
Ensemble themselves. These ventures illustrate the evolution of his approach, which has become increasingly influenced by minimalist and
contemporary music.

In addition to his work under the S.E.L. banner, Cédric formed the
"Drifting Bears Collective" in 2003. Accompanied by a guitarist, a
bassist and a drummer, he would use this new side project to develop
the more physical aspects of his music - and thus a long creative
process was set in motion, culminating in the release of the album
"South of No North" in 2007. A psychedelically noise-esque free rock
epic of sorts, this album garnered high praise from the discerning
music press, receiving glowing reviews from publications such as "Riff
Raff" and "The Wire" (the ultimate international reference magazine
for the best in alternative and avant-garde sounds). The Drifting
Bears Collective is also known for its numerous concert performances,
having appeared alongside eminent neo-folk entities from across both
the Channel and the Atlantic (No-Neck Blues Band, Vibracathedral
Orchestra, Double Leopards,...).

Using his own name when performing in the experimental and minimalist
music domain, Cédric's appearances and involvement in this scene are
increasing. He recently participated in the "toute crauté est elle
bonne à dire" expo at the "centrale électrique", for which he
performed an audiovisual piece in collaboration with the painter Serge
Golwicht on the day of the private view (6/2/2009). It was extremely
well received by the public.

The Communauté Française issued Cédric a grant for the creation of a
minimalist piece that was to receive its first public performance on
the 19th of June 2009 at the Notre Dame de la Chapelle church as part
of the "Fetes de la Musique". This took place on the minimalist night,
during which prominent international artists such as Janek Schaeffer,
Christian Fennesz and Alva Noto also performed.

Cédric recently dusted off his Acid Kirk alter ego to reprise his 
experiments in the progressive acid techno domain and - for the next 
couple of years at least - will be DJing and performing this fresh 
material live at various events. A new EP titled "Out of the Blew" was released in February, co-produced by the labels WeMe and First Cask. This revival of interest brought a lot of new bookings and Acid Kirk is now back on the international scene, playing in main events in cities such as Den Haag (The Netherlands), Rome (Italy) or what could be seen as a consecration, a gig in the most world-famous organization of underground rave parties: Bangface (n°72) in the center of London (U.K.).


Today he is resident at Kozzmozz, Belgium’s longest running techno party.  And even though he’s part of this legendary celebration for ages, his Retro Acid Residency is in the running even longer.
Spacid is promoting promoting electronical music since the early 90’s but never ties down to one particular style. He thinks outside the box and takes you to a variety of moods.  He understands how to adapt a range of atmospheres depending on the venue, people and mood. Both his reverence for the past and his quest for innovation transpire in his work as a dj. His thirst for renewal is illuminated by his passion for music, which keeps him sharp. 
Together with Dimitri Andreas, he's Marching Machines. As producers, they’re exploring the boundaries of Electro, House, Dark disco, Italo and EBM.  Their love for electronical machine manipulation is key and has its output on labels like Correspondant, Rotten City records, Opilec-music, Why people dance, Nein and Wrong Era records.            
               
Next to his love for music, Spacid loves green beans and koala bears. He's feeling judge-y when he finds the time to dust off his vinyl stock and he is an avid collector of in-flight sick bags. In 2014, he won the prestigious Tuvaluan Lacemaking championship in and is also an amateur surgeon.
