Coco was born in a coconut tree on a deserted and remote island in the South Pacific. Under the shade of a palm tree he took his first steps and slept his first naps. One day he decided to build a raft with the shells of the coconuts he had eaten until then and launched into the ocean in search of new lands and adventures.
After much sailing and long napping, he shored in the city of Barcelona at the beginning of the 21st century. Disenchanted with the way of life in the northern hemisphere, he decided to create in 2009, the Incipient Republic of Freedonia, nerve center of Barcelona´s underground, in the heart of the Raval. After some years in the background, programming and listening to the sets of the best DJs in the city, Coco decided to come out as The Coconut. Just one year after his premiere, Coco has shared booths with artists such as Curses, La Mverte, Álvaro Cabana, Javi Redondo, Middle Sky Boom, Freudenthal, Martin Noise, Morze, Lokier, among others, in addition of playing most of the most important venues in Barcelona such as Apolo, Laut, This Side Up, The Garage of the Bass Valley, the legendary Pikes in Ibiza, some clubs in Berlin as Polygon or Rummels Bucht or in Tuscany (Italy).
Expect a hot dance floor with sessions of Dark Disco, New Wave and Italo with brush strokes of Post Punk and Electro.

Coco, nació en un cocotero de una isla desierta y remota del pacífico sur. Bajo la sombra de una palmera dio sus primeros pasos y durmió sus primeras siestas. Un buen día decidió construirse una balsa con las cáscaras de los cocos que había comido hasta entonces y se lanzó al oceano en búsqueda de nuevas tierras y aventuras.
Después de mucho navegar y mucho dormir la siesta, orilló en la ciudad de Barcelona a principios del siglo XXI. Desencantado del modo de vida en el hemisferio norte, decidió crear en el 2009, la República Incipiente de Freedonia, templo neurálgico del underground barcelonés, en pleno corazón del Raval. Tras años en un segundo plano programando y escuchando los sets de los mejores dj´s de la ciudad, Coco decidió salir a la luz como The Coconut. Transcurridos apenas un año desde su estreno, Coco ha compartido cartel con artistas como Curses, La Mverte, Álvaro Cabana, Javi Redondo, Middle Sky Boom, Freudenthal, Martin Noise, Morze, Lokier, entre otros, además de pinchar en la mayoría de los clubs más destacados de Barcelona como Apolo, Laut, This Side, The Garage of the Bass Valley, en el legendario Pikes en Ibiza, en clubs berlineses como Polygon y Rummels Bucht o en la Toscana (Italia).

BIO:

Xavi Altés aka USMEV was born in Barcelona. He learned to play the piano and guitar at the conservatory during his childhood. He started playing as a dj and producing at the age of 16, releasing his first tracks in 2001. Some of his releases ended up on labels as MBF Ltd (DE), Resopal Schallware (DE), Cymasonic (NO) and Traum Schallplatten (DE), among many others.

Xavi has played with artists such as Redshape, Anton Pieete, Lee Van Dowsky, Mirko Loko, Fairmont and Luna City Express; and his releases received the support from artists such as Laurent Garnier, Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Stacey Pullen, Joseph Capriati, Agoria, Marco Carola and Danny Tenaglia, among others.

He was also predicted as one of the 15 Spanish artists to look at by the leading music publication Remezcla, Maya Jane Coles charted his remix of Maurice Aymard's "Dead feat. Colorado", and “Rondure EP” (MBF Ltd, 2014) was also described as “deep house for fine ears” by the prestigious magazine DJ Mag, which rated the release with an outstanding 8'5.
