Not until 1979, at a prestigious Carnegie Hall concert in New York, did all five play together on the same stage, and it was 1980 before the quintet recorded as a unit.

This was recorded to demo my new Low D Irish Flute made in Carbon Fiber.  I keep listening to it because it deeply relaxes me and entertains my soul. Thanks to Austrian composer Harald Peterstorfer and the combined work of engineer Rich Ruggles and Erik the flutemaker, we bring another great flute to the market.

I am playing this on a dark brown hand carved bamboo flute and on a digital piano.( I played the digital piano arrangement and then sequenced it so I could play the bamboo flute (G major scale tuned) along with it).The bamboo flute was hand carved by Eric the Flute maker  http://www.eriktheflutemaker.com/index.htm , who used to be at the Renaissance Fair in NY which is where I purchased it. He actually makes saxophones out of bamboo ! The hardest thing for me to do was play this song when I only had the notes of the G major scale to work with on the bamboo flute.  I plan to play along with a classical guitarist or with a classical guitar sound on my Korg Krome, which is closer the original instrument it was written for ( I guess it was for a Lute guitar )

This is a piece I composed in the 80's  at night on a baby grand piano that was being stored temporarily in our apartment . Lyrics by Mark Hawdon , vocals by Stephanie M. , Guitar and middle section by Jeff Smith and drums by Joey H. Originally I called it"Andy's Sonata" named after my fiancé at the time.
