David Agrella launches his own Agrellomatica Records imprint this May with four original cuts entitled the ‘Transition’ EP.

David Agrella is an Italian recording artist, DJ, Producer. Hooked into a music culture at a very early age, David started playing records in clubs in his hometown of Benevento before completing his studies as a sound engineer in Rome. He then moved to London in 2011, where he fast gained a reputation as a prolific selector with vast eclecticism and musical versatility. Hosting a monthly radio show called ‘Agrellomatica’ on the radio station Bloop and experimenting in the studio, David has been manipulating the sound of analogue synthesizers, drum machines and DJ sets alike with a unique vision. Driven by the need to encompass his musical inspirations and background connecting the dots between different electronic dance music styles, he now launches his eponymous record label, Agrellomatica Records.Title track ‘Transition’ gets the ball rolling with a fluid drum sequence fused with rubbery synths and absorbing pads underneath before the ‘Floor Mix’ adds cosmic energy and dynamic fx to the exquisite original.

From time to time he found himself lost within his own train of thought. They weren't fantasies or dreams but inner visions, predictions of the future in which the world around him was very different.

For a start, it was all green. Everything, everywhere was radiant and glowing in the warmth of the sunlight and wild plants, leaves and trees were all around.

Then there were the people dancing, they moved freely beneath the warm glow and merged with the shadows which separated their celestial bodies. He wished it might never end but soon enough these visions would end, only to be replaced with the stark grey of reality.

Yore Records are set to release an inspired EP by Dj Compufunk. This one is all about showcasing house music at its very best. Tracks crafted with precision and uplifting, euphoric melodies designed to produce serotonin.

The A1. “A.P” is built upon crunchy and mechanical movements, laced with trippy tones throughout. Sinister synths melt together creating an illuminated atmosphere for the chugging body of the track to continue its drive forward. “Ecliptic” sits comfortably as the A2, an elasticated simmering bass line stirring around the dusty nostalgic drums, before switching up into a bubbling groove and acid whirlpool. 

Taking up the whole B side is “A Never Ending Pattern” a gripping nine minute quest that showcases Kamyar’s signature production energy. The track continues to develop throughout as many curious elements and textures are invited to the table, each of them conversing with the other. A huge sounding track that will light up club and festival spaces in the coming period.

Exclusive: N-Gynn - Renaissance 

Co-label founder N-Gynn is up next on the vinyl-only label Superlux Records and delivers four bass-heavy cuts that come in as smooth and energetic as possible and therefore are summed up under the suitable EP title The Heavens. For the A1, Renaissance, everything mentioned before applies: a powerful bass line features filtered claps, pads with a darker twist and note as well as hints of a wobbling bass and an Acid-line. The last detail is the implementation of spoken words in the track's middle-part adding another facet to it and emphasizing its darker tone.

EXCLUSIVE: N-Gynn - Renaissance [Superlux Records]

Subb-an returns to 20/20 Vision with ‘State Of Flow’ featuring vocals from Oli Gosh (Crosstown Rebels). Ash Subhan has been an integral part of the deep house and techno scenes over the last decade and more with releases for One Records, Spectral and Culprit. 

'State Of Flow’ is a beautiful slice of deep techno that incapsulates atmospheric layers of melodies and vocals with powerful bottom heavy bass and percussive floor control. SOF is the first collaboration between Subb-an and singer songwriter Oli Gosh and has resulted in new directions and musical landscapes. SOF comes complete with remixes from Adam Pits and Armec. 

Adam Pits delivers a devious little gem aimed at dance floor destruction that winds it’s way between a heavy garage bassline and 90s four to floor house rhythms, fragmenting the vocal around an increasingly unhinged and infectious groove. It’s fusion served at it’s finest and a super fresh sound perfectly placed for the current club scene. 

Armec accentuates and expands the immense power hidden in ‘State Of Flow’ by breakin' the beats up and adding heavily swung filtered loops snaking around a massive bass. The Armec remix comes complete with a twist to its tale with the additional of a magnificently wobbly arpeggiated synth twisting our melons into a right old state.

As a displaced Mancunian currently holed up in a sedate corner of the South West, as resident jock at Bath's Origins night, Stack Effect has been road testing unreleased material on receptive dancefloors for the last 6 + months.

Showtime now beckons, and three tracks here combine sharp broken beats / breaks, incisive riffs and drifting pads. The pitched up, disembodied vocals manage to inject fragments of warmth and soul, the basslines, from dark n' buzzing to deep n dubby, hold things together via servings of cohesive electronic funk.

The one remix comes from Berlin dons Hard Ton, who take Could It Be You for a little journey around a sweaty, tripped out Italo - meets - proto house basement, before emerging blinking into the spring dawn.

20/20 Vision are back with another stellar compilation of blistering new talent unearthed and curated by Luther Vine.  

FOR04 kicks off with a contribution from the London based duo, Kassian. Joe & Warren’s partnership is both prolific and diverse. Over a short period of time, they’ve amassed an impressive back catalogue with in-demand releases on labels such as Phonica White, Heist and their own imprint Faux Poly. Never the ones to rest on their laurels, they continue to quest for the new cutting-edge sound and deliver it here with a track titled ‘Parallel’. It is an elastic minimalist driven groover, that mergers a perfect proportion of acid synth lines with taut drum workout. The end result is sure to keep your locked in on that dance floor. 

Next up we have Casey Spillman with aptly titled ‘Full Circle’. In a short period of time Casey’s distinct groove laden output has landed him with releases on Fuse, Constant Sound and Locus to name but a few. For some who know their labels that list alone is enough to provoke an involuntary movement in the extremities. Wait till you make the ‘Full Circle’! The groove here is locked in the well pronounced ringing drum shuffle and is accentuated by the opaque yet dreamy dubbed out chords and scattered vocal chops. Add a freight train of a baseline provided in the mix and you can guaranty a healthy rumble on the dance floor. 

Flip and awe! ‘Hour Glass’ is a bomb of rare dance floor destructive power. Crafted by the label’s curator Luther Vine and modular wizard Gregorio Soave, prior to its release on wax ‘Hour Glass’ has been tested as a secret weapon on most main & unsuspecting dance floors of UK’s capital. The result is consistently spectacular.  Right from the start the dubbed up relentless moogy bassline aims for the jugular and takes you on a hypnotic bender of a trip. Cosmic synth licks, swinging drum saults and deep pulsating chord stabs all aid the journey to that night’s elusive climax.

FOR004 waves goodbye with a fresh collaboration from East London’s finest, Thoma Bulwer and the esteemed Fabric resident, Anna Wall. ‘Spontaneity’ is an emotive, bittersweet deep house gem. With sparking synth lines, weighty 909 kicks swinging down low, and glistening euphoric modulating pads, this number is designed to bid you goodbye on a romantic, positive note and fill you up with optimism until we meet again for a new instalment of Fragments of Reality.
