Robin Rimbaud (Scanner) is an artist and composer working in the UK, whose works traverse the experimental terrain between sound, space, and image, connecting a bewilderingly diverse array of genres – a partial list would include sound design, film scores, computer music, avant garde, contemporary composition, large-scale multimedia performances, product design, architecture, fashion design, rock music and jazz.

Since 1991 he has been intensely active in sonic art, producing concerts, installations and recordings, the albums Mass Observation (1994), Delivery (1997), and The Garden is Full of Metal (1998) hailed by critics as innovative and inspirational works of contemporary electronic music. He scored the hit musical comedy Kirikou & Karaba (2007), designed the sound for the new Philips Wake-Up Light (2009), and campaigns for Stella McCartney (2017), Chanel’s Fall-Winter collection (2012) and Jaguar (2014).

In 2019 he designed the sound for the Cisco telephone systems used in offices around the world, whilst his sound work in Vex House in London was voted as RIBA House of the Year. His work Salles des Departs is permanently installed in a working morgue in Paris.

Committed to working with cutting edge practitioners he has collaborated with Bryan Ferry, Dangermouse, Coil, Laurie Anderson, Carsten Nicolai, The Royal Ballet, Wayne McGregor, Merce Cunningham, Hermes, Hussein Chalayan, Philips Design, Mike Kelley, and Miroslaw Balka. His work has been presented throughout the United States, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

Alessandro Cortini is an Italian musician, producer, composer, and instrument builder. 

Cortini is one of the foremost figures of contemporary electronic music, best known for his haunting, atmospheric work. Alongside being a longstanding member of Nine Inch Nails, he is highly prolific and has released a steady stream of his own heady music on luminary labels including Mute, Hospital, and Important Records for the past decade. Throughout his shadowy rise to fame, he has collaborated with the likes of Lawrence English, Daniel Avery and Merzbow (to name a few). Balancing dark ambience with smokey, pulsing rhythms, his compositions are perfectly restrained, textured and mesmeric. 

Cortini was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020 through his work with Nine Inch Nails, making history as the only Italian musician to have ever been honored with this recognition. 

In 2021, in collaboration with boutique synth builders Make Noise, Cortini released his own, custom-designed, semi-modular synth, “Strega” (Italian for ‘witch’). That same year, he used Strega to build his latest full length, Scuro Chiaro [Mute], which Pitchfork described as “pitched somewhere between purgatory and the planetarium ... consistently managing to thrill and surprise”. 

In addition to years of extensive worldwide touring, Cortini has also soundtracked fashion shows including Alexander McQueen, Dior, and several of Fendi’s presentations. In 2022, he exhibited a high-concept audio installation called “Nati Infiniti” for Sonar 2022 at Museu de Lisboa’s “Fábrica de Moagem.” A live version of “Nati Infiniti” is set to debut at Berlin Atonal in 2023.

Alessandro Cortini’s music has been licensed for use in television, film and documentaries, games, and commercials, including FX’s hit show The Bear, “Thank You Very Much” a documentary about Andy Kaufman, Samsung, BMW, Sony, and Netflix. Remixes have also been a part of Cortini’s identity – remixing the likes of Depeche Mode to Mogwai to Death Cab For Cutie, Yann Tiersen to Vatican Shadow, and more between and beyond.

A classically trained musician with a foundation in jazz and classical music, Asubu found his way into electronic music through hedonistic scene of 90’s London and followed it's progression through House, Techno, Drum and Bass, Electronica and everything in between.  This introduction and hunger for new sounds combined with his eclectic taste, informs his sound as a DJ.  His main aim being to lace together all the sounds he loves in a cohesive way to suit the time and environment, creating emotive sets of music, limited by nothing but quality, innovation and ultimately the desire for escapism through music. 

Asubu hosts Departures every Sunday night from 10pm until midnight on Select Radio, where he plays an eclectic live set of upfront electronic music, recent finds and other undiscovered favourites. Expect an emotive journey of innovative contemporary music, spanning everything from nu-jazz and classical to underground house, techno and electronica, and joining the dots in between.
