DJ Angel “Smiley” aka "Angel Productions", Spanish Harlem's legendary and undisputed king of Latin, House and Freestyle of the 80's 90's & 2000's. The first DJ to do mixed tapes starting in 1980 in Junior High School 13, NYC

I am known in Spanish Harlem as "Smiley" by my childhood friends. My professional music career started with mixed cassette tapes named as D.J. Angel Productions. I was also known for my jumping parties throughout El Barrio (Spanish Harlem, N.Y.C.) My specialty at the time were sweet sixteen’s, Glamorous 18's, weddings and my much sought after mixed tapes I sold out of Double Sounds car stereo shop at East 106 Between 3rd and Lexington Avenue.

I moonlighted as a major nightclubs at various New York Hotspots, I.E. Chippendales, Les Poulets, El Morocco, Club Deco, The City, The Sound Factory Bar, The Original Latin Quarter at 47th & B'way, Club Exit, Sequoia Bar @ The South Street Seaport, The New Manila Bar, Club 2ii's, Nell's, The China Club as a guest dj, The Copacabana @ 57th Street, The Circle Club (Bronx N.Y.), The Winners Palace (Bronx N.Y.) Club Booms (Bronx, N.Y.) and finally The Country Club @ East 86th Street, my last major club.

My style of music programming personified me as one of the last d.j.'s to do all night sessions from 10pm to 6am. Playing a mixture of classics, freestyle, house, Latin house, Break beats, Dancehall reggae and old school hip-hop. To sum it up, each time I played at a club drew a greater and greater amount of old school music & dance loving club patrons. Thus, the much sought after following that I achieved, I will always cherish till this day. Not to mention all of the club patrons that refused to leave the club at 6am screaming for me to play one more time. I thank all of my Followers in NYC as my memories and fan following me has served me a lifetime of gratitude.
I have had the privilege to be mentored by the legendary Raoul Soto at The Original Latin Quarter @ 47 & B'way. From there i have had the pleasure of spinning with or alongside, Roman Ricardo, Sean James, Eddie Batiz, Frankie Knuckles, Louie "Passion" Correa, Little Louie Vega, D.J. Clear, Ted Smooth, D.J. Rei Double R & D.J. G-Bo the Pro, D.J. Casper and D.J. Louie Cosme at many night club venues throughout the NY metropolitan area . I would like to give a special thanks to my promoters at the time Non-Stop Productions, Sidney Centeno, Rollo & Jeff Levino and Shavon & Damon.
