Procrastination

Hey! Here we are: 2018. Last year was rough. Not just for me, but for several friends and family members. This year's going to be better, especially if Soundcloud stops trying to get me to listen to seriously popular pop music. That's not what I'm here for. 

School has started and I'm presently lost in a new and overly complicated work/school/life schedule, but it's okay because I like waking up at 5 in the morning. That's a lie. Was it convincing? 

Last weekend - or the weekend before maybe - was the quarterly GM48 game jam. Vinnie and Bacon and I came up with a game that was based on the idea of using paper as a tool. We had the idea that the paper being modified would make different noises, and that the noises would all need to work with an underlying track. Confusing, yeah? I was happy, because this is a piece I wouldn't have written under different circumstances. It's patient, and it fights all my tendencies to get bored easily. I actually really like it. 

I won't lie...I haven't yet downloaded the game and tried it. My PC is having some screen issues presently. If you want to try it, it's gm48.net, and the game is called "The Papier Experience." 

I'm making progress - slow progress - on the Letterpress Mighty project, and am hopeful to have a few more tracks done shortly for that. I'm kinda easing in to my new year's resolutions to be more productive in music and stuff. It's gonna be okay. 

I gotta go read some stuff for school now. Hope everyone's well!

Fun with funk and soul breaks. Result of an experimentation session some years ago to work out which breaks could be shoehorned into the same track.  Goes out to anyone that used to dance to 'How Gee' by Black Machine in the early nineties...still sounding heavy and fresh.

I had this concept a while back, downloaded a sound pack from sounds of the forest (check it out). Had a bunch of kung-fu movie sounds. So I used that and my own to make a bunch of cinematic chops & loops. Purposely glitchy, gritty, choppy, mangled chops run through the SP-404A.
