From 1980-1984 Marko Farion wrote, engineered, produced and was the host for a community affairs program on Cleveland college radio WRUW 91.1 FM at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) called Free Ukraine.  It was sponsored by the Ukrainian Student Organization at CWRU and was an informative program teaching a non-Ukrainian public about the history, traditions, music and the struggle for freedom of the Ukrainian nation that at that time was still under the Soviet Socialist regime.  Here are some archival sounds from the show and some rare (currently unreleased on CD) songs that were popular in the early 80's.

The Conet Project: Recordings of Shortwave Numbers Stations is a four-CD set of recordings of numbers stations, mysterious shortwave radio stations of uncertain origin believed to be operated by government agencies to communicate with spies "in the field". The collection was released by England's Irdial-Discs record label in 1997, based on the work of numbers station enthusiast Akin Fernandez.

In keeping with its 'Free Music Philosophy', the Irdial-Discs label has made the entire collection available for download in MP3 form (along with a PDF version of the included booklet) on its website completely free of charge and encourages fans to freely distribute it on file sharing networks.
