Continuing the animix series this week is one of the most passionate and talented musicians I know. Max Santilli ( @maxsant ) is a musical chameleon with an incredibly deep and diverse knowledge of music. One half of the Eora/ Sydney duo @angophora , and an avid record collector,  
max has released a beautiful range of releases under the duo and his solo project. 

The warm qualities that shine through in maxes music are reflective of his deeply humble character, and his music never fails to blow me away - beautifully tranquil and always unique.

For this month’s chapter of our Podcast Series, we are incredibly proud to welcome Fhionbarra. Barry is a London-based DJ who has been turning heads with his commendably curated and finely executed sets across the city’s experimental ambient & dance music undergrowth and beyond ✨

A real tour-de-force of concept-driven DJing, this is a live recording of Fhionbarra’s mesmerising set from a recent Hardcore Chillout event where the loose concept of the evening was based on ‘Apparent Motion’ – that is, the perceptual illusion in cinema where still frames of film, viewed in quick succession, give the appearance of motion 🎞️

The mix is an interpretation of this concept with the first section taking a scene-setting, atmospheric tone alongside some narrative elements. This is followed by a middle section where time appears stretched or distorted – a reference to the space in between frames where our senses play tricks on us. The final section (or ‘third act’) returns to more overtly narrative territory, finishing with a cinematic flourish 📽️
