Here we tighten our fists. The upper town is ridged while we raise our eyes up to the leaden sky. As to atone for mistakes and weaknesses.
Here we tighten our fists and look up to the blue stain in the sky – which is really never that blue – and we find ourselves deserting our lives for an instant.
Over there is that fuzzy silence where we can hear as deep as the jumps of our heart. Over there, love is not just a vain word – overused and banished from here : over there is a heart swollen with fresh blood spilling in countless ramifications. Here, our heart is wringing and we are taught how to hate what we once loved. Over there is a no man’s land but there is softness. No worries : our memories are barding and protecting us, and all is still to be done : quivers of excitement without a hitch, laughs without pain, and life in the combination of blood and tears. ...And there is that Music, oddly soft and repetitive, a languidness as after Love, streching and posessing us. “Emerging from the darkness, we found the light, a conscious and spiritual movement of esoteric knowledge and techno music.” The Berlin-based label Occultists proudly presents its first release, the Dead Man Rising EP by Filipino-Swiss-German producer Dugong, who brings us her spiritual exploration of the human experience. The extended digital release includes tracks by Dugong with several collaborations with Xenoscapes, Sweet Anomaly and Likeatree and remixes by Öona Dahl, Alicia Hush and Mrs. Jekyll, a known techno producer, whose identity will remain unrevealed: since the word ‘occultism’ is translated as hidden knowledge, Mrs. Jekyll’s real name will never reach the light of day. The vinyl release also includes a powerful vinyl-only remix by Jamaica Suk.

As the EP’s name and the symbolic artwork may suggest, Dead Man Rising is about understanding the seemingly final or negative events in life from an enlightened angle and perceiving them as something positive with a new hope or a possibility to grow. Death makes a way for life, challenges can be turned into blessings and edifying experiences, and without darkness, there would be no light to be shed into every corner. Dugong’s work calls for reconnecting with the self and the spirit and helps to find the ability to heal and save ourselves through the oldest art form which has been bringing people together: music.

On the EP, Dugong’s music pulsates in the techno heartbeat of the spiritual warriors (‘Dead Man Rising’), sways in the downtempo of the warning calls about the danger for the human mind (‘Evil Magician’) and contemplates in the deep dreams of our ancestors who could read the stars (‘What May Come’). Dugong draws inspiration from various music styles and symbols which she boils together like secret ingredients of a reviving potion. The results are catchy, vital and miscellaneous tracks full of high sensibility, layered vocals and tribal beats. The remixes are shrouded in a techno haze and have been conjured to unleash Dugong’s spirit on the dancefloor.

@henry-saiz & Band return for another round bringing you further adventure into the world of their recently released audiovisual album project ´Human´ tickling some heartstrings again.
The title track of the album, which is an incredibly pure, raw song focused on textures and sensation, mixing acoustic and electronic elements, turned out to be the guys´ probably most personal oeuvre yet. Trying to recreate the lights and shadows of the African savanna, original song also aims to show the listener the chaos of a place brimming with life and drama, and the beauty so astounding that it shakes our conception of what it means to be human. And it does.
´Human´ then gets a beautiful makeover from Permanent Vacation's @benjamin-fr-hlich-permvac who couldn´t help himself and delivered two equally stunning versions - passionate, precise, powerful and entirely committed to the original´s aesthetic. Overall they are rousing overtures backed up with concrete drums, hypnotic beat tools, trippy chants and emotional atmospherics. Bursting with melody, soul and emotional weight, each of them is gradually unveiling an utterly enthralling musical story. 
Finishes up the package a Romanian producer @liarinth who delivers a spacey and swirling remix that´s an epic fusion of nostalgic synthwork with its distorted lo-fi synthlines, spellbinding sound design, chanting vocal chops, distant pads and ravey breakbeat. With producer´s signature emotional poignancy that´s instilling a mind high, his remix is a musical soundscape that´s subtly enchanting and completely gripping.
´If there is a place that shows how the environment determines our perception of reality, that place is Africa´, - the guys say, and this package surely helps you further down that line.
