Dust Devices is the experimental electronic music project of Cláudio Oliveira, a composer and
sound designer from Porto, Portugal.
Since his first EP “Spectre Research” he has been blending the rhythmic foundations of Industrial, EBM, Techno and Electro with cinematic textures, atmospheres and synthesized experiments.

He’s been able to showcase his music in multiple national and international venues and events, including the festivals Sonar, Semibreve and Neopop, and as a regular contributor for labels like Zodiak Commune Records, Diffuse Reality, Rapture and Mera.

“Spine Mirror”, his latest full-length album, extends those sonic explorations into a more disso-nant, abrasive and mechanical approach, while breaking down and rearranging the compositional core of those genres.
Without losing sight of the elements that ignite a dancefloor, the narrative and evolving character of the music is the main focus of this project.

We don’t chase names or algorithms. 
The Vela Pulsar exists for those who understand that this music isn’t nostalgia or fashion, it’s circuitry, emotion, resistance, and evolution. Each release is a coded message from the fringes, shaped by artists who prioritise sound over status, vision over visibility.
Our mission is clear: to amplify the uncompromising, to expand the sonic frontier, and to remind the world that Electro comes first.

Justin creates music inspired by a plethora of genres, from rock to pop, from hip-hop to afro-beat; his visions of electronic music are always more that just blips and beeps. He started his musical journey at age ten and spent may years learning many different instruments and eventually graduating from one of the world’s most prestigious Recording Colleges in early ‘01. 

But his passion for EDM truly started the mid 90’s, amidst the then booming South Florida rave scene when he was truly exposed to electronic music at smoke filled, laser lit night clubs in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. He quickly became a sought after electro/breaks DJ under numerous monikers and over the years has played on bills along side the likes of Afrika Bambaataa, Busta Rhymes, Ritchie Hawtin, and Dynamix II, just to name a few. 

Since the recent genre-smashing-music-revolution, he’s been in the studio, perfecting his ‘new’ sound and sharing stages and knowledge with some of best musicians the electronic scene has to offer. In his productions, Justin strives to use contemporary ideas with a strong traditional, classic technique and continues to explore new ways to push the envelope on electronic music everyday.
