Kurt Baggaley, also known under is electro alias as Scape One is an electronic music producer from England. Having started music production as far back as the 80's it wasn't until the 90's with the advent of the new generation of contemporary electro and techno producers that Kurt began to release for various labels. With notable releases over the years on World Electric, Elektrix, Satamile, Emoticon, SCSI-AV, Southern Outpost, Drivecom, Cultivated Electronics, Brokntoys, CPU and Believe In. Since 2011 Kurt has used his real name to produce a more personalized and unique sound with the notable releases on SoHaSo, A Must Have and Chapter 24. Kurt still produces electro as Scape One and the uses the name Tau Sagittarii for his ambient synth music.

EKATA is a London based DJ/Producer & Natural Selection Resident whose productions are characterised by their dark, haunting and atmospheric soundscapes, driven by pulsating rhythms and intricate synth work. EKATA is self-described as genre and sound obsessive and has built a reputation as a huge advocate for Electro and it's core roots.Her perfomative sound best personifies dystopian, ominous grooves and obvious sci-fi fixations which embody her carefully picked selections.

Hypnotic Groove Mix #424 - EKATA

Hydroz (aka Hydraulix) is the Miami Electro Bass outfit consisting of AshRock & JimiTheGenius. Together they have been releasing music since the early 2000’s and continue to push their sound till today. Drawing from their childhood influences (2 Live Crew, Debonaire Records, Cut It Up Def Records, MC A.D.E, Dynamix II, etc) to create their own unique hybrid.

With 20+ releases on labels like Kuad, Touching’ Bass, Monotone, Frite Nite, Zone, etc - and currently working on new material set to be released later this year, including a new track in this mix.

As a child of the 80’s Commuter was Inspired by all electronic music he could find; ranging from acid house, EBM, Synthpop, Electro, Rap/Hiphop, New Beat,House, Italo, early Techno and with a particular passion for Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk.

Since his recording debut in 2004 with the song ‘Electrostate of Mind , you can find his music on labels like : Zone, Cultivated Electronics, Skryptöm, Elektrofon, Bass Agenda, AFU Limited, Space Factory, Goog, Citizen and BoysNoize records.

Over the years, he has had the opportunity to remix various artists including Miss Kittin , John Lord Fonda, Captain Mustache or Nomenklatür, and to collaborate on the Roentgen EP with The Hacker.

In 2023 Commuter will be back with new music, so watch this space …..

ParallaX 003 | COMMUTER

Lee Cee started playing vinyl in 1997 and has always brought an eclectic sensibility to her sets, with varied taste in genres but mostly Acid, Electro and Techno.
She began her journey on the Free Party scene and as well as her hometown club, the legendary Club 69 in Paisley in 2002. Lee has played alongside legendary selectors such as DJ Pierre, Nightwave, Co-Accused, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and Jerome Hill.

Lee has also been a resident for Tech-Know Radio on Glasgow’s Groove City station since 2019 and is well known for her diverse and infectious style, and an old school, intuitive approach to her all vinyl sets.

For this ParallaX mix the northern selector has, as always, graced us with a Vinyl only mix.

Lee wants to Shout out to Ara-U's new EP "No Future" on Co-Accused's label (CR003) which is out early August, there's a couple of tracks on this mix from it.

Illektrolab, whose real name is Jason McCracken, is an influential figure in the world of Electronic music and heavy hitter amongst the Electro Bass realms. Jasons passion for music was ignited at an early age. Growing up, he immersed himself in a variety of genres, but it was the allure of Electro and Broken beats that truly captivated his imagination.

Embracing the moniker Illektrolab after being nearly sued by the Lego Toy Corp for the use of (DJ Lego), Jason began experimenting with synthesizers, drum machines, and sequencers at an early age, pushing the boundaries of his creative visions. His productions seamlessly blended intricate melodies, pulsating basslines, and razor-sharp beats, creating a distinct sound that resonated with legions of electronic music enthusiasts Globally.

Illektrolab's breakout moment as a producer came with the release of his EP “System Check” in 2006 on the Iconic Satamile Records (NYC). The EP's track entitled Overdrive became an instant classic, captivating listeners with its hypnotic melodies and BASS heavy robotic vibes. It was a defining moment in his career, propelling him into the underground spotlight and solidifying his status as a pioneer of the Electro genre with his own unique style and sound. Over the years, Illektrolab continues to innovate and evolve his sound.

His releases on renowned labels such as Satamile, BroknToys, Shipwrec, and his own Advanced Robotiks Output as well as appearing on compilations for Tresor and Fabric London to name a few, showcased his versatility and musical prowess. Each track was a testament to his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of Electro Bass and brokenken beat music.

Illektrolab's impact extends beyond the studio and into the DJ booth as well. His energetic and dynamic performances have electrified dance-floors around the world. From underground raves to renowned festivals, his sets have become legendary, earning him a dedicated following of fans who eagerly anticipate his every move behind the decks or playing live PA. With his unwavering passion for music and dedication to sonic exploration, Illektrolab has left an indelible mark on the electronic music landscape.

His pioneering spirit and innovative productions continue to inspire a new generation of musicians and shape the future of dark sci fi electronic music. Hailing from West Palm Beach, Florida, Grow (@adamgrow) is a renowned producer and DJ who embarked on his musical journey in the early 1990s. Founder of CHP Recordings in 2007, his debut vinyl release, "Electronik Milk," gained significant recognition within the electro community. Additionally, Grow co-founded the band Ohverclock alongside Kounterakt from Code Rising, resulting in multiple album releases. Lee Cee is a Scottish DJ based in Paisley. She started collecting vinyl in '97 and has always brought an eclectic sensibility to her sets with varied tastes often focused on Techno, Acid,and Electro.She began her journey on the underground Free Party scene as well as her hometown club, the legendary Club 69 in 2002 and has supported well-renowned selectors such as DJ Pierre, Nightwave, Co-Accused, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, Jerome Hill, and Maria Chavez. She has also been a resident for Tech-Know Radio on Glasgow’s Groove City Radio since 2019 and is one-half of turntablist duo The Paisley Tapes.

You can catch Lee Cee at The Berkeley Suite, Glasgow on 12th April supporting Co-Accused and UK electro legend, Radioactive Man.
