The building electronics beneath the sounds of everyday life is unobtrusive but very effective.... an underlying menace   perhaps or the synthesized sounds of machinery.

Love this,captures the anxiety of waiting for something/getting out of Dodge. Dunno if that’s what you were going for but that’s what I’m getting. Cool work.

ON|RUST as it appears here on soundcloud is the first stage of a small project that is actually called O|N|RUST consists of this track, plus a Bandcamp version (January 2024 - supplemented with two short pieces for percussion and electronics) and a 2024 small scale vinyl release. I've built a number of rhythmic sound machines especially for this piece which mainly consists of the hum and interference of electrical equipment supplemented with an electric guitar drone. Mastered by Rupert Clervaux.

'Changing Times' was something to express a sense of nostalgia. It reflected thoughts I've been having as my kids get older. The title I gave it took on a whole different, sad light, when I learned of the passing of a dear friend. People my family and I love, lost a husband and a father today. We lost a brilliant, clever, funny, kind, and caring friend.

He was the very best of men. And he will be sorely missed. 

'Changing Times' includes a manipulated and processed sample of isolated vocals taken from the excellent 1969 track, "I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free", by the band Cold Blood.

Changing Times

Time and thought are the two variables that influence fear in our brains. Time is the interval between the present and the future, where we anticipate potential threats and challenges. Thought is the cognitive process that we use to simulate the possible outcomes and scenarios that may occur. But both time and thought are not objective phenomena in themselves. They are only mental representations that we use to interact with the world. The source of fear is the dependence on these representations, and the assumption that they are more relevant than the empirical evidence of the present moment. To reduce fear, we need to regulate time and thought, and align with the current state, where all is stable and calm. This is the goal of scientific rationality, to live in the present, and to rely on the empirical data.
